Van Zandt County is now under a burn ban. Violation of a burn ban is at least a Class C Misdemeanor with a fine of up to $500. The penalty can go up if it threatens another's property, places another in imminent danger, etc... Please share with everyone as there are very dangerous fire conditions right now.

NOTICE OF HEARING REGARDING ISSUANCE OF PROPOSED VFD FINANCING CONTRACT BY EDGEWOOD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

Pursuant to the Tax Equity Fiscal Responsibility Act and Internal Revenue Code, as amended, notice is hereby given that a hearing will be held by the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department, regarding the proposed adoption of a resolution authorizing the ex*****on and issuance by the VFD of a lease purchase financing contract (the “Agreement”) in a total principal amount not to exceed $ 450,000.00 (max purchase amount) for the purpose of acquiring an emergency services vehicle.

Any person interested may appear before representatives of the VFD on the 15th day of November 2025 at 8:00am CST at Edgewood Fire Station #1 and be heard for or against the adoption of the resolution and the ex*****on of the Agreement. At such hearing, all objections and suggestions will be heard and considered and the VFD will take such action as is deemed proper under the circumstances.
