About the FAMILY EMPOWERMENT NETWORK INTERNATIONAL (FENI)
The Family Empowerment Network International (FENI) is a movement with an interest to improving the lifestyles of families and individuals through workshops, forums, seminars, conventions, revivals, dialogue, and suggesting alternative approaches in family life issues. Since its creation, FENI has consistently been at the forefront of init
iating prevalent developmental ideas and self-reliance of individuals. FENI GOAL
To improve and develop family life and interpersonal relationships. Why FENI Exists
Family Empowerment Network International (FENI) is a movement which was established out of concern for the continued deterioration of family life in our nation despite the efforts that have been made to counter it. The movement recognizes the urgent need to counteract this decline – an opinion shared by churches and other organizations – and has made its major goal the improvement and development of family life and interpersonal relationships. FENI seeks to involve all families to work towards this same goal, and to influence the whole society through the practice and teaching of Biblical principles. Our most important and powerful assignment is in the family. It is important because the family has the opportunity for everyone to put feet firmly in the home. The FENI METHOD OF OPERATION (Christ’s Method Alone)
“Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, “Follow Me.” Ellen White, Ministry of Healing p 143. FENI PROGRAMS
We engage men and women in developmental economic empowerment programs as well as self-reliance and human rights education. We address gender disparities in all sphere of life including health, education and social systems. We focus in empowering families through providing transformative strategies based on popular education which has been highly effective in transforming families. The participants become strong supporters of restoring family values and human rights promoters. This is done by conducting different kinds of workshops and forums discussing how we need to end domestic violence and educating men and women on gender equity from the biblical point of view. Men and women are one in the eyes of God. (Galatians 3:28). God shows no partiality (Romans 2:11). Both man and woman were created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27). Husbands should love their wives and wives be submissive to their husbands (Ephesians 5:22, 25). This is the same message the Gender and Equity programs in the country promote. We train families to control such situations like domestic violence of any kind, divorce, deaths caused by unfaithfulness of either party, poverty due to laziness and lack of vision, because where there is no vision people perish (Proverbs 29:18). Through our programs the participants learn how to identify their problems, prioritize their problems, and create an action plan and implementation. We encourage men and women to make use of the programs that are beneficial to them and also learn their constitutional rights. This diffuses discrimination in the families, churches and the community. The world, the nation, communities, and institutions will not be stable and strong, if families will be weak. We must embark on the families because as it is said, “charity begins at home. FENI EVENTS
The Family Empowerment Network International hosts annual events which include and not limited to Woman of Destiny; the Man of Valor; the Couples’ Dinner; and the Young Visionaries (the young adults/young professionals). This year’ conferences will continue the trend that has established these conferences as the premier spiritual, cultural, and social events in Nairobi. Their main objective is to help the family members to identify who they are and how they can improve their lives and realize that they don’t exist in isolation. This year’s events will explore the theme “Building the Nation through the Transformative family engagement”. Following the record turnout in the previous years, the organizing committee which is popularly known as the FENI 12 is planning for a record attendance at this year’s events that hostS over 2,000 plus young professionals at the Nairobi Cinema and over 6,000 attendees at Kasarani. Based on the large number of enquiries about organization’s participation at these events, the committee has developed this exhibition and sponsorship package as a guide for organizations, individuals, and businesses that are interested in participating at the events. The Young Visionaries’’ event is being extended from 2 to 3 hours whereas the Woman of Destiny extends from 3 to 5 hours to allow pre-event interactions and informational sessions for exhibitors and sponsors. The extension will allow a balance between the grand opening event sessions, exhibition sessions, marketing, networking opportunities and presentations by the guest speakers and presenters. There will also be special interests of faith-based, non-profit organizations and other groups to interact and meet the people during the event. In making a commitment to become a sponsor or an exhibitor, your organization will be assured of a high profile exposure to this growing community of worshippers, national leaders, family units, young professionals and students. Growing to almost 5,000 attendees, the FENI events has received enquiries from various additional groups of interested participants from a wide cross-section of the African Communities both in Kenya and other African countries. The FENI event is being promoted and broadcast broadly throughout the country, neighboring countries and beyond. The FENI 12 cordially invites you to participate in the Young Visionaries and/or the Woman of Destiny.
