Edgewater Permaculture Society The Edgewater Permaculture Society is an informal non profit group dedicated to promoting edible landscape and sustainable human environments.

The Edgewater Permaculture Society hosts an annual 'Plant Swap Party at the Park' in Edgewater, Florida. We support locally produced goods and services. We support other local groups with similar goals. We distribute free locally adapted edibles to qualified applicants thru a program called the EPS Plant Project.

Planted some today..radish, turnip, garlic and kohlrabi..it's been awhile since I actually did any seeds so that was fun, started a few for the swap, they might be up by then if we're lucky..Other plants I have for the swap are Okinawan spinach, African blue basil, sugar cane, lemon grass, patchouli, wild coffee, dragon fruit pitaya, cranberry hibiscus..a few other odds and ends..Looking forward to it :) Anybody have winged yam? pepper or bay?

Help us raise money for the Edgewater Community Garden by attending the "Mashed Potato Bar" fundraiser which will be held on Oct. 28th at 5 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 485 Turnbull Bay Road in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will match one dollar for every two dollars collected up to $750 as part of their Care in Community program.
The proceeds will fund Edgewater Community Garden's efforts to provide food to Gifts of Love.

Tonight, Wed Oct 17 is the South East Volusia Audubon Society meeting at the Edgewater Public Library at 7pm. It is a free public event.
Ray Jarrett, Sr. Biologist / Urban Forester, University of Central Florida and an ISA Certified Arborist will talk about Plants of the Scrub Habitat.

We will also be having another Earth Day Edgewater 2013 planning meeting at 8am Monday morning at the Edgewater Leisure Services Office at Hawks Park. Please come help us plan the first and best ever Earth Day Festival for Edgewater!

Our 5th Annual Fall Plant Swap is only 3 weeks away. It will be at Hawks Park this year from 9am-12pm. We will also be having an Edgewater Community Garden Busy Bee at the park at that time and the Satuday Morning Farmers Market will be set up there as well!

The ribbon cutting ceremony and first planting date for the Edgewater Community Garden @ Hawks Park here in Edgewater has been set for August 25th. 9am.
We will be having one last garden committee planning meeting before then Wednesday, Aug. 22nd, at 2:30 p.m at the Leisure Services Office at Hawks Park.

Hi all. The swap is only three weeks away! Whoo hoo!
I want to thank Florida Gardening Magazine and New Smyrna Magazine for advertising the swap for us. And also the City of Edgewater for advertising the swap in their August newsletter.

I hope the weather is not too hot! I am bringing a box fan and some spray bottles of water to help people stay cool.

Please do carpool to the swap if you can!
Please do try to label all plants and seeds.
