Monday musings with Morti!

This past weekend I got to do one of very favorite things …. HIKING!! The sun. The smells. The flowers. Plus in the foothills and mountains there are these funny little brave things that looks like squirrels, but don’t have tails. My foster mom says they are called chipmunks. They chitter a lot and think they can get close, but are quick to run away, so I think they are not as brave as they pretend to be.

Mini Angel/Minnie just had her vet visit this morning. While overall she is healthy she has an Open pyotoma ( a uterine infection). She will be getting surgery on Wednesday to fix this along with her spay. We are all thinking about her and hoping for a speedy recovery! With that said be medical bill has gotten higher than expected. Can you help Miss.Minnie get her surgery?

This sweet Saint Bernard mix puppy is the newest face at Colorado Saint Bernard Rescue, and he is already stealing hearts! 💙 Full of puppy s***k, curiosity, and love, Seymore is around 6 months old and keeping everyone smiling with his playful personality. He’s a happy boy who loves other dogs and is already having the best time with his foster sister, Tova.

As adorable as Seymore is, being rescued comes with important medical needs to help set him up for a happy, healthy future. We are asking for donations to help cover Seymore’s veterinary care, including his puppy shots, neuter, microchip, and gastropexy procedure.

Every dollar makes a difference and helps us continue saying “yes” to dogs like Seymore when they need us most. 💕

Ever wondered why we are always asking for donations? The average cost of bringing a dog into the rescue is 1,577. This doesn’t account for dogs coming in with extra medical needs. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that relies solely on donations and volunteers! If you think your $5 donation doesn’t make a difference it in-fact does!

We are heart broken to announce the passing of another CSBR icon. Apollo the giant Dane passed at home on Sunday.
I recieved the news Sunday morning as I was loading up 3 new dogs in New Mexico.
Just as I did with Apollo back in 2022.
His Dane Dad Brian White was everything Apollo could have ever dreamed of. Before Brian recieved Apollo. I had asked him to accept a white chihuahua puppy,that resembled his White Chihuahua Rocky that had just crossed the rainbow bridge. Brian opened his big heart and home to TACO.
Apollo had been rescued by Forever Homes Animal Rescue in New Mexico. They mostly specialize in small dogs. Apollo found himself surrounded by chihuahuas. And looked to be a perfect new big brother for Taco.
Perfect was an understatement! The two became the best of companions, in a most comical fashion. It's always hard on us humans to say goodbye to our dogs. For a dog to loose a companion... That's about as far as I can go making this post this morning 😪
We celebrate the life of this truly gentle giant. And send all our love to Brian and Taco. If a picture says a thousand words, then there is nothing more I could add about "APOLLO" 🌁🌈

Take a moment today to be thankful for those who have sacrificed everything for this country and for your freedom.

FOUND DOG--CENTRAL CITY. This friendly, handsome male St. Bernard was found roaming around the cemetery last night. If you recognize him, please call the shelter at 303-679-2477.

🐾 Meet Seymore! 🐾

Everyone say hello to our newest rescue boy, Seymore! ❤️

Seymore is an approximately 6-month-old Saint Bernard mix with the sweetest personality. This handsome boy is already winning hearts with his gentle nature and loving demeanor. He’s a very sweet pup who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is already loving life with his foster sister, Tova 🐶💕

Seymore is settling into foster care and soaking up all the love while we get to know him even better. He is not yet neutered, but we’ll share more updates as this adorable guy continues to blossom!

We can already tell Seymore is going to make an amazing addition to one lucky family. Welcome to the rescue, sweet boy! 🐾❤️
