We are honored to be featured in this month's issue! 💙

Having community leaders and local publications help share our story is incredibly meaningful. Every opportunity to spread awareness helps us reach more families and continue building a more inclusive Rockingham County.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us grow.

The June/July issue of Hometown RoCo Magazine is here, and it is packed with local stories, community pride, and the results of the Best of RoCo 2026!

Inside this double issue, you’ll find the full list of this year’s Best of RoCo 2026 winners, a feature on Dr. John Dabbs of Eden Chiropractic as he celebrates 30 years in practice, the story of Lauren Bottoms and the opening of Ink & Ivy Bookshop, and a Local Focus section highlighting the mission of Acts 4 Autism and their Community Day and 5K.

You’ll also find Brooke Powell’s column on Reidsville’s new ice cream shop, Scoop Me Up NC, along with columns from Diane Sawyer with and Lauren Bottoms with Ink & Ivy Bookshelf.

This issue also features beautiful photography by Autumn Hollifield Photography-Images by Autumn, capturing so many of the people and places that make Rockingham County special.

We're not experts. We're just moms who saw a need and decided to do something about it.

And we're just getting started. 🩵

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mt. Carmel Church for hosting this incredible event and for opening their hearts and ears to our mission. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share the story behind Acts 4 Autism, the work we're doing in our community, and the vision we have for supporting individuals with autism and their families. Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful day.

To the mothers raising children with special needs,
we see you!

We see the version of you the world doesn’t.

The mother running on empty but still showing up.
The one carrying the mental load no one else can fully understand.
The one researching late at night, advocating during the day, and holding it together in the quiet moments in between.

We see the exhaustion.
The guilt.
The overstimulation.
The grief for the version of motherhood you thought you would have, while fiercely loving the one God gave you at the exact same time.

We see the appointments, the therapies, the meltdowns, the victories that seem small to everyone else but mean everything to you.

We see the way you celebrate milestones the world overlooks.

The way you’ve had to become stronger, louder, softer, more patient, more resilient than you ever imagined possible.

And we know this path can feel incredibly lonely.
Because unless someone has lived it… they often don’t fully understand the grit and heart it takes to be this kind of mother.

But we do!

We understand what it means to keep showing up even when you’re exhausted.
To carry both heartbreak and overwhelming love in the same breath.

To fight for your child in a world that doesn’t always make space for them.

You are fierce.
You are resilient.
You are the safe place, the advocate, the comfort, and the strength your child leans on every single day.

You are the kind of mother that changes lives simply by refusing to give up.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the mothers walking this road with a strength that deserves to be seen, understood, and deeply respected.

It only takes a couple minutes, and you’ll be entered to win an Acts 4 Autism bag + t-shirt.

Link in comments. If you can, share this and help us reach as many people as possible 💙
