Ride for Our Vets on The King Run! 🇺🇸🏍️

The Patriot Riders of America WI Chapter 1 is honored to lead this year’s ride for The King Run! This Saturday, August 29th, we’re hitting the road to support the incredible men and women who call the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King home.

All proceeds go directly toward benefiting our Veterans—helping support those who proudly answered the call and sacrificed so much for our country.

Whether you ride on two wheels, three wheels, or four, we’d love to have you with us! Anything with an engine and wheels is welcome. Come spend the day on the open road with great people while making a real difference.

Event Details & Schedule:

Registration: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

Location: Jaspers Bar (6510 WI-44, Pickett, WI 54964)

Flag Ceremony & Prayer: Approx.. 9:35 AM

Kickstands Up: 10:00 AM sharp!

This is a organized group ride with 5 stops along the way before returning to Jaspers Bar.

Roadrash Bar & Grill (Food Stop)

Wisconsin Veterans Home at King

The Cemetery (Moment of Silence)

The Log Cabin / Gearhead Garage Bar Ripon

About two months ago, a family reached out on Facebook looking for help with a Vietnam Veteran’s last wish: to go on one last motorcycle ride.

After the family attended our meeting, it was clear what needed to happen and who needed to do it. In collaboration with AMVETS Riders of WI 13 and MVMA, we knew we had to come together to make this happen for Jimmy and his family.

Yesterday, The Patriot Riders of America WI Chapter 1, AMVETS Riders of WI 13, MVMA, and a large group of our incredible supporters came together and took Jimmy out on his last ride. What an absolute honor.

Jimmy had to quit riding due to health reasons, so his bike had been sitting for quite a while and needed work to get road-ready. A generous member of the AMVETS Riders stepped up to repair the bike and presented it to Jimmy’s son so he could ride alongside his dad.

Jimmy gained the nickname "Tw***ie" back in the day because he always had one in his hand—so of course, we had to make sure he was set up with a fresh box of Tw***ies before we took off!

Suited up in his leather jacket, chaps, and helmet, Jimmy was ready to roll. We rode off to Jorgies in Borth for a celebration. When asked how he liked it, Jimmy said the ride was too short! Naturally, the plan changed on the spot, and we gave him a motorcycle ride all the way back home after the party, too.

Everyone enjoyed cake and cupcakes from Back Roads Bakery while sharing stories, we presented Jimmy with a custom challenge coin honoring his branch and his Radio Man title made by Greenway Homescapes, then we mounted back up and rode to the church to visit with Jimmy a little more. After getting home, Jimmy definitely earned his afternoon nap!

What an amazing day. Three groups coming together to grant a Veteran’s last wish was nothing short of awesome and a pleasure.

Last Sunday, August 16th, was our Liberty Bell 250 Poker Run and what an absolutely amazing day it was.
We would like to extend a huge shout out to Hornets Nest, The Mayor of Markesan, Bill And Brant's Good Old Days, The Log Cabin / Gearhead Garage Bar Ripon, and Smokin Oak BBQ for your generous donations to support our cause. Your support in what we do for our Veterans makes a world of difference and is greatly appreciated. Of course, we also must thank you all, and The Old School, for your hospitality and exceptional service while we were there for our stop.

We had the pleasure of having Linda and DuWayne from Camo Quilt Project join us on the ride to the first stop, a group from Menomonee Falls rode up to spend the day with us which was awesome, and luckily the rain forecast changed so we had beautiful weather for our ride.

There is one other Small Business that we must give a shout out to for changing their schedule so they could be present at our last stop. Be sure to check out Sweeter Together Baking Co. (A small Mother and Daughter Bakery) and show them some love. The treats they brought were simply amazing and we made sure they were sold out within 15 minutes to show respect for what they did for us. We hope that everyone had a great time and look forward to seeing you all again at our other events or a meeting. Our doors are open to absolutely everyone. Whether you’re young, old, a man or woman, a veteran or not, interested in joining, or just curious about who we are and what we do, we’d love to have you!
📍 Where: 102 Campbellsport Ave, Eden, WI (Right behind Paddy's Pizza)
A quick heads-up: You do not need to be a veteran or ride a motorcycle to join us! We are a 501(c)(3) Veteran organization. While a lot of us love to ride and host poker runs in the summer, we have plenty of members who don’t ride at all. That’s why all vehicles are always welcome at our events. Yes, we love rolling out on two or three wheels for a good cause, but we have quite a few members who prefer four wheels.
The only real requirement to join? You just need to be 18 or older and share our passion for supporting veterans.
Whether you ride, drive, or walk—you are welcome!

Fulfilling a final wish for a Vietnam Veteran.
Save the Date and please join us as we grant a Vietnam Veterans wish for one last motorcycle ride.
On August 22nd, The Patriot Riders of America WI Chapter 1 and The AMVETS Riders of WI 13 are working together to make this 82 year old Veterans wish for one last motorcycle ride come true.
Jim Troxell Jr., also known as “Tw***ie” was born and grew up in Oshkosh. Around 21 years old, Jim joined the Navy and became a Radio Man during the Vietnam War. After the war, he returned to Oshkosh and met the love of his life, had 2 wonderful children, worked at the same job for 40 years, and built a life full of love, hard work, and memories that will never be forgotten. Jim also loved the outdoors and of course, Riding his motorcycle.
In 2018 Jim lost the love of his life to Throat Cancer, and in 2021 he was diagnosed with subcortical vascular dementia which meant he had to give up his love of riding his motorcycle.
Please consider joining us on a ride with Jimmy and help make his wish for one last motorcycle ride a remarkable and unforgettable one. We will take a short scenic ride lead by the AMVETS Riders of WI 13 to Jorgies in Borth where we will enjoy some good food, camaraderie, and a small celebration in honor of Jimmy.
Vehicles are welcome.
