We should not be using animals for medical science. We have evolved. Thank God for the release of these poor babies.
NEW DETAILS: Ridglan Farms has agreed to sell 1,500 beagles to Big Dog Ranch Rescue and Center for a Humane Economy. The transfer begins tomorrow. It will take teams about 10 days to move the dogs out. Hereβs the breakdown of where the dogs are headed.
Dane County Humane Society - 500 dogs
Big Dog Ranch Rescue Campuses in FL & AL β 300 dogs
BDRR Partner Organizations β 700 dogs
Ridglan Farms has consistently told me the facility has about 2,000 dogs. That would mean about 500 remain.
Today I asked the company what will happen with the remaining dogs. Hereβs part of the response I received:
βMoving forward Ridglan Farms is in the midst of finalizing arrangements for the remaining dogs. However, because our facility has repeatedly been the site of mass attacks and break-ins by extremists, with the latest occurring less than two-weeks ago, we are unable to share updated animal numbers to maintain the safety of our staff and animals.β
If youβre in Wisconsin and interested in one of the beagles, know the Dane County Humane Society is working with 40 shelters around the state to rehome the dogs. That includes the Wisconsin Humane Society which will welcome 150 beagles.
