Hello,
Let me share my small testimony, we are two sisters I am the eldest, my mother, a single mother who worked almost 12 hours daily to cover our basic needs, we lived in a small wooden house, whose wood was almost transparent because it was very old, we had almost no clothes or food, our toys were stones and tree branches, my mother did her best to give us what she could, but lived frustrated and tired, I was always an excellent student and dreamed since childhood to go to college and study English, those were my dreams, I wanted out of that poverty, help my family, no longer go on like this, was a short childhood because as eldest daughter home responsibility fell on me. But at 7th grade, my mom was about to take me out of school, although it was public school she could not pay for my transportation and educational materials, in those days, she could not give me the 50 cents, the bus cost, so most of days I had to walk about 3 kilometers to go back to school and not to stop studying. We were about to be under the care of the government because my mother could not sustain us, it is not fair that a child is separated from his/her home because of poverty, if for other reasons, but not because of poverty, thank God I could continue studying, my daughters have a different life from mine, but I do not forget where I come from, this is the example we talked with young people who are on a scholarship, we can change our future, they can fulfill their dreams, but it takes determination. Why I am telling you this? Because it is so important to help keep families together, is not fair to be separated for money, and I am very happy to support with your help strengthen families and to fulfill the dreams of these children. Thank you for making this possible.
