🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Feed My Starving Children 🌟

A huge shout-out to Feed My Starving Children for providing opportunities for volunteers across all CHOICE sites for so many years! Volunteers help label MANA packs that are sent to countries around the world to help fight hunger. FMSC creates such a fun and welcoming environment, complete with music to sing along to and friendly staff who make volunteering a great experience!

Thank you, Feed My Starving Children, for all you do and for giving our volunteers the opportunity to make a difference!

🌟 Independent Worker Spotlight: Caroline at Primrose Schools 🌟

Caroline has been a valued member of the Primrose team for almost a decade, working as kitchen staff and a dishwasher. At a recent check-in, her supervisor shared, “Caroline is very independent and a hard worker!”

Caroline takes great pride in her work and can always be seen with a smile at Primrose! When asked what she enjoys most about working at Primrose, she said, “I like seeing the kids and working with the staff. I’m a good worker and I work well with other people.”

Caroline also has some great advice for other job seekers: “Keep doing what you’re interested in and do what you like to do, and always stay positive.”

Even though Caroline stays busy with work, she enjoys taking some time each year to visit her friends at CHOICE and go on outings, especially when those outings involve cheering on the Minnesota Twins!

Congratulations to Caroline on her continued hard work and dedication at Primrose! We’re so proud to celebrate you!

🌟 October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)! A time to celebrate the contributions of workers of all abilities and to promote inclusive employment practices. Watch all month long as we spotlight some of the incredible workers supported by CHOICE. 🌟

And that’s a wrap on another great season of employment with Three Rivers Park District! This year, we expanded our partnership to include a total of 14 locations, with new opportunities at Bush Lake park, Eagle Lake Golf Course, Glen Lake Golf Course, Hyland Greens Golf Course, Mississippi Gateway Park, and Parker’s Lake Golf Center. We also debuted CHOICE Clean Team T-shirts for our workers.

Three Rivers is a long time employment partner with CHOICE, dating back 15 years. We’re proud of the work the CHOICE Clean Teams put in this summer and thankful for everything Three Rivers does to keep Minnesota’s outdoor spaces clean and welcoming to all!

A couple of weeks ago, our Eden Prairie site hosted our very first Reptile Fest, and it was such a fun afternoon!

From necklace making, tattoos, stickers, bingo, and treats to a tortoise race and, of course, ALL the reptiles, there was something for everyone to enjoy 🦎

We had a great time celebrating with our community and are already looking forward to the next one!
