Hello Friends!

DO YOU LOVE SPREADSHEETS, LIKE TO BUY STUFF, OR MAYBE YOU'RE ACHING TO SWING A HAMMER? DO YOU HAVE LOTS OF OPINIONS AND IDEAS ON MERCHANDISE OR THE WAYS WE CAN IMPROVE CAMP?

Friends has a Board of Directors who contribute their time, sweat,
and some money to make Friends of Camp Sacramento fulfill its mission to support Camp and to enhance each camper's experience. We have many vacancies coming up for 3-year terms that start January 1, 2026.

NOMINATIONS FOR BOARD MEMBERS ARE DUE NOVEMBER 21.

We have a Board meeting at 6:30 on Wednesday November 12, at the Coloma Center (4623 T Street). Come see what's it about, join the lively discussions on how we can make Camp better.

Here are some of the Board's activities: help open camp the first
weekend of June, and help close it usually the first weekend of
October. We also raise funds/donations from local businesses and
sports organizations for our Labor Day weekend fundraiser at Camp.

We have committees for Membership, Camp Improvement, Merchandise, Big Day of Giving, Labor Day, and Campership. Lots of opportunities to find what you like to do.

Each Board member is expected to work at two Wine & Cheese socials, join a committee or two, and work at the Labor Day weekend fundraiser. Every new Board member has time to ease into their role; our expectations are reasonable.

We have 8 Board meetings (January, March, April, May, August,
September, October, and November), and a General Membership
Meeting/Santa Breakfast the first Saturday of December. The Board
meetings are a maximum of ninety minutes, and some will be by video conference.

If you're interested in joining the Board or learning more, please
send an email to [email protected].

Thank you,
James Lewis
President Board of Directors

Closing weekend is coming 10/4 and 10/5! FoCS is inviting you to get up the hill and help close up Camp on October 4th or 5th from 9am - 4pm. Folks are welcome to join for part of the day also.

This is a great way to lend a hand at Camp: boarding up cabins, moving benches and bleachers into the Lodge, taking down signs, relishing in the Dining Hall awning removal, or general clean-up. Chad and his staff would love your help. You'll be rewarded with food and drinks, and that warm feeling in your heart.

Please RSVP to Chad at [email protected].

A huge thank you to everyone who made a donation to Friends of Camp Sacramento during the 2025 Big Day of Giving. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

Camp Sacramento is a special place that has been creating lasting memories for local families for more than 100 years. Donations will allow Friends to sponsor several Camperships in 2025, as well as many upgrade and improvement projects around Camp, including the replacement of cabin mattresses, new cabin curtains and screens, furniture and shading for the patio and deck, archery equipment, craft supplies, and a long-overdue upgrade of the horseshoe pit area.

If you didn't get a chance to donate on the Big Day of Giving, it's not too late. Visit https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/organization/friendsofcampsacramento at any time to support with programs of Friends of Camp Sacramento.
