Cub Scouts Pack 2016

Pack 16 held our annual Pinewood Derby last weekend, and we hosted the Keystone District Pinewood Derby yesterday. So many memories made, so many cool cars entered! Cambria County Commissioner Tom Chernisky was our guest judge for the Best of Show car at Districts, and he chose the same car the boys of the Pack chose for our Derby, a Minecraft-themed car with 3D printed tracks and mine cart! At the District level, the first place and second place cars were so close that they were .001 second off in one race! Their average speed was 231 mph, covering the length of the track in just over 3 seconds! Great job, Scouts!

Please like, share, and attend! We have a Professor of US History from SFU coming to speak prior, arrive by 5:15 for her to begin speaking at 5:30 with the movie to begin at 5:45.

Cub Scouts Pack 16 is celebrating 2026, and the 250th of the Country in a big way, with camping nights at Revolutionary War era forts, field trips to DC and other historic locations, and so much more! To kick things off we’re starting with a movie night at the YPCC and partnering with Ebensburg Mainstreet Partnership to show National Treasure!

We’re planning a speaker to give a brief overview of what led to our fight for independence from 5:30 until movie the movie starts at 5:45. There will be a concession stand with candy, popcorn, hot dogs, and drinks. This should be a fun night to get out and enjoy our Community, and celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America!

THANK YOU TO THE COMMUNITY!

With your generous donations, Pack 16 collected and delivered 388 canned goods, 174 boxed goods, 147 toiletries, 88 miscellaneous items, and $438.50 this morning for the Saint Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry in Ebensburg. Great work boys!

22 boys, and 15 adults helped through the morning. Thank you to Damin Printing Company LLC for use of their delivery van to collect and deliver.

Cub Scout Pack 2016 will be collecting food for the Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in the Brouse Chiropractic parking lot located at 948 West High Street in Ebensburg. 9-noon.

What is needed:

Non-perishable foods:
Canned goods (vegetables, fruit, meat, soup)
Peanut butter
Pasta
Shelf-stable items like rice, beans, and cereal.

They also urgently need personal care items:

Soap, shampoo, and toothpaste,
Household essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, and diapers.

Please no homemade, expired, or refrigerated items

Cash or check donations also, please make checks payable to Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

A reminder, this Saturday, come see the Cub Scouts at Brouse Chiropractic & Nutrition parking lot, and help them to help our Ebensburg Borough & Community and surrounding areas as they collect food and items for the Saint Vincent De Paul Society food pantry. 9-noon. These boys love to work hard, give back, and carry lots of canned and boxed goods to take and sort and put away at the Food Pantry, please come support them in this noble effort to give back and serve their community!

TATER FEST 2025!!!!!

Come see the Cub Scouts at Potato Fest in historic downtown Ebensburg today and enjoy some grub!

Hot Dogs on potato rolls, loaded or plain, and everything in between, bubble tea, bubble lemonade, regular Vale Wood Tea and Lemonade, grilled cheese on potato bread, and Country Meats Meat Sticks!
