We were at the Lakeshore Trout Unlimited International Fly Fishing Film Festival this past weekend in Sheboygan county - a great chapter of generous people who are sponsors of our Reel Recovery retreat. Congrats to Al Wortz, Myk Hranicka and the rest of the crew at Lakeshore TU who had a fantastic community gathering for food, camaraderie and the film fest. Outstanding work - outstanding people. Reel Recovery: A unique experience for men with cancer - to share stories, flyfish, form lasting friendships and gain hope and camaraderie as they confront the challenges of the cancer journey. These retreats for men with cancer -- any stage, any form -- are offered at no cost. Our Reel Recovery Wisconsin retreat is happening Sept. 3rd - 5th, 2025 in River Falls, Wisconsin. An outstanding golf outing put on by the great people of UA Local 434 Plumbers and Steamfitters!! This enthusiastic crew generously supports the Reel Recovery- Midwest retreat every year with their annual golf outing. Golfers, spouses, friends and family plan for months, give generously and have a blast doing it. Many thanks to everyone who participated and who support Reel Recovery. Through the Scheels Gives Back program, two employees of the Eau Claire Scheels have generously donated $1,000 to the Reel Recovery Wisconsin flyfishing retreat for men with cancer. Brayton Meyer and Adam Skibness – both avid fishermen themselves – have generously used their employee allotment as part of the Eau Claire Scheel’s Gives Back program to support this retreat. We are extremely grateful to Brayton and Adam as well as to store manager Jeff Tornow and the Scheels organization for their generous support.
