Eau Claire Climate Action Now (CAN) We CAN fight climate change here and now; join Climate Action Now (CAN) Climate change is not just a future threat, but a reality.

Global warming is changing our planet, and we must act locally to join regional, national, and international movements to respond boldly to climate change. As citizens in the Eau Claire area we must not only make sustainable personal choices, we also have a moral responsibility to raise our voices and use our collective power to influence our city, county, state, nation, and world to respond appropriately and end climate change.

"Xcel Energy says the solar panels will provide five megawatts of sun-generated energy. The utility company’s goal is to provide 100% carbon-free electricity to all its customers across several states by 2050. That includes the Chippewa Valley."

Drive up the Town of Hallie and you will see the sun shine down on panels. The project is called the Chippewa Sun and it is set to power up the future.

On Inauguration Day, Mr. Trump withdrew the United States from the Paris climate agreement, making it the only nation to walk away."

President Trump has quickly transformed America’s approach to the environment, withholding funds and stretching the limits of presidential power.

Average annual temperature made last year the 3rd warmest year on record for Eau Claire, and warmest ever for the Twin Cities and St. Cloud.

It's fair to say, the main headline for the climate summary of 2024 is that the average annual temperature made last year the warmest year on record for the Twin Cities and St. Cloud and the 3rd warmest for Eau Claire.

This was largely achieved by exceptionally warm temperatures January through March and again in October through November.
