Company C of the 8th Wisconsin Regiment Volunteer Group Company C is a Civil War reenactment group based in Eau Claire. The group participates in activities surrounding life during the American Civil War.

Company 'C' of the 8th Wisconsin Regiment is a Civil War reenactment group that is known by its mascot Old Abe. We are a non-profit group that serves as both an educational and public service. We attend reenactment events that serve to provide awareness of the American Civil War. Besides awareness & education, the group also demonstrates how soldiers lived and fought during the American Civil War.

We attend events bringing reproductions of Civil War weapons, gear, and equipment. Members live in the tents as actual soldiers of the period would have done and do not utilize any modern conveniences, except for a camera to document the events of our group.

Company C of the 8th Wisc. will be putting on a display at Carson Park on Tuesday, July 4th. We will be near the Logging Museum. Please visit.

Company C of the 8th Wisc. will NOT meet on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Our next activity will be at Carson Park on July 4th. We will gather at 8:30a.m. to set up our display next to the Logging Museum. All are welcome.

Reminder: Company C will be part of the Civil War veterans program in Ladysmith on Monday, May 29, 2017. We will meet at 11:00 A.M. to get set up. This is at Pioneer Park which is on W 5th St. S. This is one block east of Hwy 27 just after you cross the Flambeau River bridge. Turn right on College Ave.

Company C 8th Wisc. will meet on Tuesday, May 16,2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Annex in Eau Claire. We will discuss our plans for Memorial Day in Ladysmith. We will not march in the parade in Eau Claire.

Chuck Zabrowski is shown and quoted in a fine article in the Eau Claire Leader Telegram of November 28, 2016. The article is about Christmas in the Civil War era. Chuck will be making presentations on Dec. 10 & 17 at Wilson Place Mansion.On the 10th, he will talk about the life of a soldier and the weapons used. On the 17th, he will talk about men from the Chippewa Valley who served and about medicine during the war.
