WI SI Jill Underly failed to appear and answer questions about how more than 200 educator sexual misconduct investigations were handled. When leadership is absent, accountability disappears — and with it, the trust every family should be able to place in their schools.
Why is no media in the Chippewa Valley covering this?

The conversation about the agency’s handling of sexual misconduct and grooming allegations and licensure was sparked by a CapTimes report.

Interesting… afraid to ask what else will be done by the City or City elected officials to silence opposing views.

The decision is noted in the Eau Claire City Manager Weekly Report.

The City of Eau Claire is looking to increase the City Wheel Tax to $50. While Eau Claire County has decreased County property taxes, the City is proposing a 4.5% increase to the budget brought to you by City residents.

"We are balancing the budget through an increase in our local vehicle registration fee which is our wheel tax and we really recognize that this impacts residents and our focus for this year is to find all the tools possible to shift the burden off of our local property taxpayers," said Hirsch

This year's proposed operating budget is roughly 4.5% higher than last year's.

Since the 1st Amendment has been at the top of everyone’s mind lately… precedence was just set with a federal judge ruling. The 1st Amendment doesn’t supersede the productivity and safety of an employer. Hedgpeth v. Britton is referenced often in this ruling and in that case it was a teacher with opposite political views. Firing for social media comments now been clarified twice.

Federal judge rules in favor of Waukesha School District in suit brought by fired teacher Melissa Tempel. Case dismissed.

President Emily Berge's comments on the matter:
Eau Claire City Council President and Citizen Action member Emily Berge says freedom of speech is the foundation of our democracy and individual’s right to express themselves, even if others do not agree, adding we deserve leaders who work to bring communities together, not use their elected privilege to threaten constituents.
“So, working through the democracy that we have, it’s when they are up for election. You vote them out if you don’t agree with them or vote for their opponent. So that’s not an option, I can’t fire them,” said Berge…
“For resigning, if that’s what he wants, he can say that, but I don’t see them resigning anytime soon and they are very valuable members of our community,” said Berge.

Today we were notified of comments made by Eau Claire elected officials that do not align with the character of our city. Eau Claire needs and deserves leadership who will respect and value all, no matter what a person's foundational beliefs are. 🫶

On September 10, 2025, following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, Councilman Aaron Brewster shared a past statement made by Mr. Kirk in support of Second Amendment rights. Shortly thereafter, Councilman Joshua Miller commented on the post, calling Kirk “a sick man who has been cut down by...

May we never forget. May we remember the 2,996 lives lost, respect those fearless warriors who chose to run towards danger that day, respect the fearless warriors who continue to show up when danger is upon us everyday, and most of all may all Americans remember how we lived on 9/12/01. God Bless America and Her People ❤️🇺🇸💙
