We try not to ask for help, but to be honest...we urgently need it.
The truth is that our hay bill has become a huge challenge. Our monthly costs to house and feed have DOUBLED because of the cost to produce hay has nearly doubled. Our supplier has tried to shield us from the rising costs for as long as he could, but winter is on its way, and he can't operate at such a loss anymore.
Every single bit of hay matters now more than ever. After brainstorming, we landed on hay nets. Hay nets are one of the best ways to have the herd eat a more sustainable amount and eliminate waste.
We have one of the expensive nets and it just can't be patched anymore. We know times are tough and money is tight for everyone, so we are aiming to just go the cheap route and hope they hold up. It feels wrong to ask for $800+ in feeders/hay nets if we can try to get by on the $80 nets.
So, that being said, we desperately need at least 2 nets ($160), but our goal is to get 4 nets ($320) so we have enough on hand to keep rotating them and always have an extra available when needed.
๐จMinimum goal: $160 / 2 nets
๐Hopeful goal: $320 / 4 nets
This may seem like a small thing but $80 can make a real difference for our horses right now.
