🧅 This is how a lot of our parents and grandparents managed their kitchens.
They kept a few basics ready to make meals easier during the week — onions already sliced, leftover vegetables saved for soup, or ingredients prepped ahead so dinner came together a little faster after a long day.
It wasn’t fancy. It was practical, smart, and it worked.
The best meal prep ideas still work the same way today. You don’t need a full Sunday cooking marathon to stay ahead. Even preparing one or two basics like roasted vegetables or a jar of pickled onions can make homemade meals much easier during a busy week.
Sometimes the simplest kitchen habits are still the smartest ones.
What’s one kitchen shortcut you learned from your parents or grandparents?
