On this day in 1944, brave soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most significant operations in history—D-Day. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to freedom changed the course of the world.

As we honor those who served during World War II, we also remember the generations of veterans and military families who have followed in their footsteps. The VFW National Home has long stood beside those who served, providing support, stability, and hope to veterans, active-duty, and their families when they need it most.

Today, as we reflect on the sacrifices of the Greatest Generation, we remain committed to serving current and future veterans and military families, ensuring that their legacy of service is met with the care and support they deserve.

Their bravery and sacrifice must never be forgotten.

🐝 Buzzing with purpose and a whole lot of heart! The Heroes to Hives program at the VFW National Home is underway, and our newest beekeepers are already rolling up their sleeves and diving into the fascinating world of hive care. From learning how to properly inspect a hive to understanding what keeps a colony healthy and thriving, these students are proving that teamwork, patience, and a little courage go a long way — both in life and in beekeeping. 💛
