This past week was exciting for Troop 2017 for girls in Eastvale. We received a visit from Ms. Lupe Nava from the Jurupa Community Services District Board of Directors and Ms. Jocelyn Yow from the Eastvale City Council. They spent two hours sharing how local governments and service districts function for the people of our community. It was a great start to our Citizenship in the Community merit badge. The girls left with a great understanding of local government and how we can work together to make the community a better place.
A team from our Troop also helped to complete an Eagle project at Peppermint Ridge, a non-profit organization in Corona that provides loving homes and empowering support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The ladies worked hard to refurbish a large raise garden area at the main campus. They reinforced, sanded, and repainted all of the gardens as well as replaced the soil and some of the plants. It was a lot of work, but it was well worth the effort. As always, the day ended with a pizza party to celebrate with our friends.
If you would like to be involved in a great troop with over 50 girls who plan their own activities and lead their own troop with their own equipment and without needing help from the boys, please consider stopping by. Our 2024 program is underway, so now is the time to JOIN!! To get away from technology and get active in the outdoors again, please join us. [email protected] or call 951-377-9137. Troop2017.com
