Our exterior siding project is a task for professionals, since the old paint contains lead (typical for historic buildings). This is a necessary step towards re-opening our doors as soon as possible, and keeping our community and environment safe.
In 2019 the Olga community and beyond, came together to buy the historic Olga Store. Now, with a 20-year lease with USPS and the Orcas Food Co-op's lease for a satellite location, The Olga Store is ready to rebuild. Restoration of the building includes years of deferred maintenance, including the replacement of the 100+ year old siding that has rot and lead-based paint. Our rebuild will aim to maintain the iconic and historic features we all know and love.
