Time is running out to sign up for this coming Saturday morning's free Micro‑Forest Discovery Walk at Lower Hackett Park with the Wildlands Conservancy.

Micro‑Forests support wildlife, improve soil health, help manage stormwater, and quickly grow into vibrant mini‑ecosystems. Inspired by Easton Conservation Manager Rob Christopher’s work and his step‑by‑step guide, this walk showcases how native plant diversity, thoughtful design, and compact planting can create a living, educational habitat in just a few years. Perfect for nature enthusiasts, gardeners, educators, and anyone curious about powerful small‑scale conservation solutions.

The Bureau of Urban Conservation & Sustainability is grateful to have partnered with the Greater Easton Development Partnership to make Easton Pride sustainable.

Easton Pride's four waste stations, manned by six volunteers, are designed to divert and sort waste. Stations reduce the trash end up in the landfill. All collected food waste has been composted thanks to Lafayette College.

Other successful goals includes no single-use plastic water bottles thanks to Old Farmer Tea and vendors using home compostable Better For All cups! We are delighted to support this initiative and event and look forward to future opportunities

The Bureau of Urban Conservation & Sustainability is proud to recognize World Environment Day today.

This year's World Environment Day is being hosted in Baku, Azerbaijan and focuses on the increasing signs of environmental stress we face. The world is adapting with renewable technology, redesigned urban spaces, and replanting natural spaces.

Don't forget to plant pollinators in your gardens. Happy Pollinator Month! 🌷🌹🪻🐝

June is National Pollinator Month! 🐝🦋
This month, we’re celebrating the tiny but mighty creatures that help keep our gardens, farms, and ecosystems blooming.

Pollinators come in many forms: bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, flies, hummingbirds, and more. They visit flowers of every shape, size, and color, moving pollen from bloom to bloom and making so much of life possible. 🌸

One of the best ways to support them is to plant with abundance and diversity. A garden filled with many colors, flower shapes, bloom times, and native plants creates a welcoming space for a wider variety of pollinators throughout the season.

This June, let your garden be a celebration of color, connection, and life.

🌼 Plant something that blooms.
🍂 Leave some stems and leaves for habitat.
🚫 Skip unnecessary pesticides.
🌱 Add native plants whenever you can.
👀 And take a moment to notice who shows up.

Happy National Pollinator Month from the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners!
