We Are Building a Food Forest to Nourish Our Community!
We are creating a community-driven food forest with a simple yet powerful goal: to replace processed, boxed foods in local pantries with fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables grown in harmony with nature.
By transforming open land into a thriving, sustainable ecosystem of fruit trees, berry bushes, perennial vegetables, herbs, and pollinator plants, we will create an abundant, long-term source of nourishment. This food forest will not only provide access to fresh produce for families in need but also serve as a living example of regenerative agriculture and food justice.
Our vision is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves real, nutritious food—not just canned goods and packaged meals. Food pantries often rely on shelf-stable items because they’re easy to store and distribute, but they’re not always what our bodies need most. Through this project, we aim to shift the paradigm—offering nutrient-rich, living foods that heal, energize, and support overall health.
This food forest will:
Feed local families: Donated produce will supplement or replace boxed items in food pantries.
Educate: Hands-on workshops and tours will teach people how to grow, harvest, and prepare fresh food.
Empower: Volunteers and community members will help design, plant, and care for the forest, building knowledge and ownership.
Restore: Native and pollinator-friendly plants will help rebuild local ecosystems and improve soil health.
Sustain: With perennial crops, composting systems, and natural methods, the forest will thrive for years with minimal inputs.
We believe that food is medicine, and that access to healthy food should be a right, not a privilege. Through this food forest, we hope to not only feed bodies, but nourish minds, spirits, and the land itself—One Seed at a time!
