We are leaving the Museum of Science feeling beyond inspired by our Students in Service teams. These middle and high school students have been stepping up to care for their communities all year long. From creating care closets to help those struggling to make ends meet, to improving school culture, to mentoring elementary students and fostering inclusion, these students had a real impact on the people around them. Even more heartwarming was listening to their reflections on the impact their service work had on them. They grew their knowledge, developed new skills, made new friends and improved their own happiness. Such AMAZING accomplishments and we so thankful we got to celebrate them today. Also a big thank you to Boston’s Museum of Science and to the Massachusetts Teachers Association for making this event possible!

We spent a WONDERFUL day listening to the youth in our Students In Service program talk about the AMAZING and IMPACTFUL work they’re doing in their communities! These youth are addressing issues like student mental health, food and nutrition, representation and cultural awareness, poverty, and bullying. Thank you to all the teams that participated and to our sponsors Massachusetts Teachers Association and Museum of Science, Boston for supporting their work and providing a place for them to be honored and celebrated! Thank you to Angela Clark from the MA Attorney General’s Office and Lina Canon from Smarter Good for sharing your stories and words of wisdom to this new generation of changemakers! Way to go Quincy High School, North Quincy High School, Marshfield High School, Saugus High School, St. Collumbkille, Holland Tech, and Wilson Middle School. All of us at RMK are inspired by you!
