PSA: We'd like to notify friends and visitors to Smith Farm that this is the season for our annual visitors from Leach Pond. Turtles are making their way toward the farmhouse and laying their eggs, quite literally, everywhere. Some of these visitors are Blanding's Turtles and they are listed as Threatened under the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act (MESA) and are currently (2025) under review for federal Threatened status under the Endangered Species Act. If the turtle is digging or laying eggs in the yard, leave her alone. Disturbing her can cause her to abandon her nesting site. We ask that our two-legged visitors be cognizant of this fact and observe these nestings with care. Thank you! (photos by Caren Longshaw and Marie Kelly)

The students at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School are busier than ever wrapping up this school year's projects in time for each department's rough inspections. We love their work and tireless dedication to their trade.
Thank you, Southeastern Regional... GO HAWKS!

This spring, board member Bob Botelho once again led the charge in rejuvenating Christine’s butterfly garden at in her hometown of Easton’s Borderland State Park. The garden is a tranquil place where people gather, reflect and participate in active therapy and self-healing throughout the year. His efforts cleaning up the garden and planting flowers in Christine’s memory help make it extra welcoming and beautiful this time of year.

Thank you to Bob, Smith Farm staff, and everyone who keep this garden going year after year. We’re so grateful to have this spot to remember Christine and offer hope and healing to others.

In celebration of Wellness Week, the rain held off long enough Wednesday to have Sue Novick conduct a successful "Mindful Mornings" session at Smith Farm. The gathering drew 9 people who took part in Sue's class and had a very relaxing morning through forest bathing and meditation. We encourage you to take this class when it comes back to Smith Farm on June 10th from 10:30 to noon. Registration is $25, a portion going to Smith Farm’s renovation!
Veterans may attend FREE of charge.
