Lainey is the granddaughter of one of our members. In addition to her Grandfather, both of Lainey's parents also served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. This family has given so much to those around them, now they need support from others. Please take a moment to read her story. Any assistance you could offer the family towards expenses associated with her care would be greatly appreciated.

Alyssa and Tyler welcomed baby Lainey six weeks early in August 2025. After spending some time in the NICU, she was finally able to go home and meet her very proud, husky big brother.

In November, Lainey began having difficulty breathing. An emergency room visit and chest X-ray revealed that her heart was larger than expected, leading to her first ambulance ride to a hospital specializing in congenital heart disease. Further testing showed she had a coarctation, a narrowing of the aorta, which required surgical repair shortly thereafter.

Despite surgery, Lainey’s heart continued to struggle to pump blood effectively to the rest of her body. She was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and heart failure, and transferred to a new hospital for specialized care by the Heart Failure and Transplant Team.
After much consideration, Lainey received a left ventricular assist device (LVAD), known as the Berlin Heart, and was officially placed on the Pediatric Heart Transplant List on January 16, 2026. She will remain in the hospital until she receives her hero heart. ❤️✨

Through it all, Lainey continues to show her strength and spirit. She is learning to sit up and loves greeting the staff who have become such an important part of her journey.

Transplant-related expenses can be overwhelming, so we have joined with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA), a national charity based in Bloomington, Indiana. COTA is dedicated to organizing and guiding families in raising funds. Funds raised for COTA in honor of Lainey will assist with a LIFETIME of transplant-related expenses. Help raise $60,000 for COTA in honor of Lainey!

For those asking how they can support the family of Tyler during these difficult times this site is collecting donations for Tyler's family. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can offer.

I don’t know how to start this, so I guess I just will. Tyler was everything my family wanted for my little sister and more. He was a dedicated father, and the most loyal husband-to-be. He was compassionate, patient, he was so calm. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that neede...

It is with an extremely heavy heart and profound sadness that the City Of Easton Fire Department and Easton Professional Firefighters must announce the passing of Active Firefighter Tyler Weidner. Tyler, a third-generation career Firefighter, and second-generation Easton Firefighter was appointed to the Department in 2021 after graduating Allentown Fire Academy class 2021-01.

A graduate of the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, his drive and never-quit spirit made him a vital member of the First Platoon where he responded to numerous emergencies during his years of active service to the department, including a recent CPR SAVE of a patient who was in cardiac arrest when the crews arrived on scene. Tyler’s final rescue was his donation of his two kidneys to save the lives of two others.

We ask that you keep his Fiancée Kerry Kozic and their son Sawyer Lee, Mother Nellisa, Father Kevin, Sisters Gabbie and Addie, Brothers Preston, Berkley, Steele and C**t and the rest of Tyler’s family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Huge thank-you to the Pennsylvania House for unanimously passing HB1261! 👩‍🚒🔥

This bipartisan bill is a major step forward in protecting our fire fighters from toxic PFAS chemicals and improving safety standards for first responders across the Commonwealth.

HB1261 shows what’s possible when lawmakers come together for the health and safety of our communities.

Next stop: the Pennsylvania Senate. Let’s keep the momentum going!

This is an excellent statement by Bethlehem Firefighters IAFF Local 735 in regards to Podium Construction and the demands these buildings bring to already understaffed departments.

This construction style is present throughout our city as well, particularly newly constructed residential buildings downtown.
