🌟 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹: 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 🌟
Stella’s story is a hard one to tell. She arrived at our rescue in late May — underweight, partially blind, and with a big pregnant belly. Despite quarantine, alfalfa, supplements, and all the care we could pour into her, heartbreak met us on July 1st.
Her body simply wasn’t able to carry her foal to full term, and he came too early.
Vet calls were made, medication was given, but he was just too premature. He lived for a little over an hour in my arms, loved deeply before peacefully passing.
Even knowing that the neglect and lack of nutrition Stella endured 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 coming to us caused this outcome, it was still a heavy blow. It wasn’t something I spoke about — only my immediate family and Cara knew. I even debated sharing this today, but I did, because it is also a story of God’s goodness.
The very next day, on July 2nd, He gave me Kavah — my beautiful mini zebu calf. It felt like His way of hearing my heart’s cry and making beauty from ashes. Her name, Kavah, means hope in Hebrew. God always gives us hope. ❤️ Even on the hardest days, He has never let me down and gives me exactly what I need to keep going.
And looking at Stella now — happy, healthy, and finally filling out along her topline — I know I would do it all again for her.
We’re unsure what her future holds — whether she’ll remain here in the sanctuary part of our rescue or if she’ll find her perfect forever home. With full blindness in one eye and partial blindness in the other, she will always need a little extra TLC and will require a very special home.
What we do know is this: Stella is safe, loved ❤️, and finally on the path toward a good life.
