More photos from Oyster Restore Afternoon at . We got to spend the afternoon and hangout with great people and great staff talking about all things oysters.
We explained how Rink2Reef takes broken ice hockey sticks and makes oyster restoration reefs.
Then guests leaned about aquaculture vs wild harvesting from Rink2Reef staff.
Followed by a shucking demonstration, raw oyster sampling and some amazing chef prepared oyster dishes.

Rink2Reef utilizes broken hockey sticks to create oyster restoration habitats. And Rink2Reef Chesapeake does it along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
By creating additional structures for baby oysters (spat) to attach and grow, Rink2Reef improves water quality of the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding waterways.
Our goal is to do our part to create a thriving ecosystem and bay so it can be adourded for its wonder and enjoyed by all.

Proceeds from Rink2Reef Chesapeake Bay help seed public oyster bars that support the health of the Chesapeake Bay and its working waterfront communities.
Pictured here is a spat on shell set at in Tilghman Island, Maryland. Spat on shell sets like these are places on public oyster bars to filter thousands of gallons of bay water.

RESERVE YOUR REEF NOW! Thanks to our friends at Requipd, we have a large shipment of donated sticks coming from the West Coast. Prices are $175 for homeowners and $250 for commercial docks. Proceeds go towards conservation and restoration of the Chesapeake Bay. Message us if you are interested.

From 2018....students from Florida Gulf Coast University install Rink2Reef Oyster Reefs off Vester Marine Science Field Station. Way to go guys!
