Dear Young Eagles Participants and Parents,

We regret to let you know that our EAA Young Eagles Rally scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Eastland Municipal Airport has been canceled.

With the fires currently affecting our area, Eastland Airport is serving as an important base of operations for firefighting aircraft. Helicopters and other aircraft involved in the fire response are using the airport for staging, fueling, and water-drop operations. Because of the increased activity and the critical work taking place there, we feel canceling our Young Eagles Rally is the safest and most responsible decision.

We know how much our Young Eagles look forward to these rallies, and we are truly disappointed that we will not be able to fly with you this Saturday. We also greatly appreciate your understanding as our airport and aviation community support the crews working so hard to protect our surrounding communities.

We hope to have another opportunity to welcome our Young Eagles and families back to the airport soon.

Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe.

Beautiful day at KSEP Stephenville Clark Regional Airport in for their flyin and farmers market. We didn’t fly Ghost in due to the predicted weather. Love our shirts! Lots of people stopped to chat.

What a day! Our Young Eagles Rally was an incredible success, and we were honored to give 21 Young Eagles their Discovery Flights! Some of these kids had already caught the aviation bug and proudly showed up with their logbooks ready for another entry. Others experienced their very first flight ever. Watching those smiles, excitement, and wide eyes reminded us exactly why we do this.

We had some serious future pilots in the crowd too! One sweet girl showed up in her flight suit looking like she was ready to preflight her own airplane. We may have some future captains, mechanics, and aviation professionals in the making!

A huge THANK YOU to all of the pilots and volunteers who donated their time and aircraft, from EAA Chapter 471 out of Abilene. and our members from EAA Chapter 956 for helping make the day run smoothly. Events like this take a lot of teamwork, and we truly couldn’t do it without every person who showed up to help.

Days like this are what aviation is all about with sharing the joy of flight, inspiring young minds, and planting seeds that may someday turn into lifelong passions and careers.

Blue skies, full hearts, and future pilots ahead. ❤️✈️

We gathered to honor longtime EAA member and pilot Keith Jeager, a man who gave so much of himself to aviation and to this community. It was a beautiful tribute to a life spent in the skies.

The pilots flew a missing man formation, a powerful and emotional salute, followed by flyovers from others on the field-each pass a quiet “thank you” and farewell.

Some of these photos were taken from inside one of the missing man formation aircraft, giving a glimpse of what it felt like to be part of something so meaningful. And in a moment that truly captured the spirit of aviation, a young girl with dreams of becoming a pilot got to sit up front in the first officer seat during the flight. That right there…that’s how legacies carry on.

Thank you to all the pilots and volunteers who made this tribute possible. It was done with heart, respect, and a whole lot of love for one of our own.
