On June 17, during the first Elks cookout of the season, Veterans Committee Chair Lisa Radke, along with Exalted Ruler Bob Harnett, was honored to accept a $1,000 donation from the Jarheads Motorcycle Club of Cape Cod in memory of Skip Higgins. We are grateful for their generosity and support of local veterans.

On June 17, after earlier weather-related delays, the second group of veterans was finally able to get out on the water aboard the Clinton D with Captain Jerre. The trip was a great success, with everyone enjoying a beautiful day of fishing and returning home with plenty of fish to share.

We are proud to share that, together with Capt. Jerre Austin and the Outer Cape Music Festival, the Orleans Eastham Elks #2572 Veterans Committee will be sending four groups of five veterans out of Wellfleet this June for meaningful charter fishing trips.

Active duty service members and veterans are invited to participate. Please email your name, phone number, and proof of service (ID card, DD 214, etc.) to: [email protected]
Deadline: Friday, May 15, 2026
Note: Membership in the Elks is not required and does not influence the selection process.

* Selection Process
A drawing of all applicants will be conducted on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the lounge. A waiting list will also be established.
