Today's EPG featured artist is Ron Edson. He is an expressionistic painter who creates art work through the exploration of color and texture.

Today's "in the Spotlight" is Jody Shyllberg's Orchids in the Window.

In this painting, she captures orchids in winter, illuminated by the low, slanting sunlight streaming through a window. The delicate blooms glow with remarkable brilliance.

Today's spot light is on Taisuke (Tai) Soda's Komorebi #4. Komorebi is a Japanese word describing sunlight filtering through leaves. In this series, he captures cyclists and walkers enjoying the Cape Cod Rail Trail, where shifting light and shadow transform an ordinary ride into a peaceful experience.

Proceeds from these sales support annual scholarships for graduating seniors at Nauset Regional High School and Cape Cod Regional Technical High School who are continuing their education in the visual arts.

On display is one of our best sellers, Sunsets.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art Second Annual Live Art Auction is this Friday, June 19! The auction, featuring over 70 works by regional artists (including 'Sunlit Lilies' by moi), will be held at Eldred's Auctioneers, 1483 Route 6A, E. Dennis, MA.

The preview is today, 10:00 - 4:00 pm, and tomorrow, June 19, 10:00 - 5:30 pm, with a cocktail reception from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. The live auction starts at 5:30 pm.

"With this work, I have integrated printmaking and painting, realism and abstraction. The background print operates as a field of unpredictable, contained instability, holding the boat in a place of calm. It is part of my "Order out of Chaos" series."
