A rescue partner received a terrifying call: someone was threatening to shoot two 6-month-old Saint Bernards he couldn't sell unless someone came to get them immediately.
When rescuers arrived, they discovered something even worse.
An entire litter was living in absolute filth and one tiny puppy was severely injured, with half of his hind leg missing and no medical care. When Animal Control asked what happened, the owner claimed maybe a rat had chewed it off.
That tiny puppy became Baby Grayson.
Grayson was rushed to the vet septic, weak, unable to eat on his own, and fighting for his life. His leg was badly infected and had to be fully amputated.
No one knew if he would survive.
But Grayson wasn't ready to give up. ❤️
He made it through surgery. Day by day, he grew stronger, and by 8 weeks old, he was finally healthy enough to come to PawSafe.
Today, Grayson is spunky, sassy, and absolutely wonderful. He's learning to race around on three legs and getting more coordinated every day. His siblings are around 20 lbs, while little Grayson is only about 6lbs, so he still has plenty of catching up to do!
But saving Grayson and the rest of his family came at a significant cost.
Transport alone exceeded $2,000, and between emergency medical care, surgery, transportation, and caring for his family, we're hoping to raise $4,500.
❤️ Will you help us reach $4,500 for Grayson?
Your donation doesn't just help cover the cost of one puppy's second chance.
It helps PawSafe say YES to the next Baby Grayson who desperately needs someone to fight for them.
And now there is one final piece of Grayson's story waiting to be written: his forever home.
Grayson is available for adoption to the right family. Life on three legs may come with challenges for a growing Saint Bernard, but this little puppy has already proven one thing:
Grayson never gave up — and neither will we. ❤️
