𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀: “𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲.”

For most people, taking a shower is just part of the day.

After a spinal cord injury or neurological injury, it can represent something much bigger: independence, privacy, safety and the ability to care for yourself without assistance.

Recovery isn’t only about the milestones other people can see.

Sometimes it’s transferring safely. Standing a little longer. Reaching what you need. Regaining enough strength, balance or control to complete one more part of your routine independently.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀.

They’re the everyday moments that give people more of their lives back — and they’re why continued access to specialized rehabilitation matters.

𝟭𝟱 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.

When we launched Rise Through Resilience earlier this year, we knew there was a gap. We just didn’t know how many people we would have the opportunity to reach.

Today, we’re incredibly proud to share that we’ve now provided 𝟭𝟱 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 to individuals pursuing continued neurological recovery. 🩵

That means more therapy. More time to work toward meaningful goals. More opportunity to keep pursuing progress when insurance coverage or financial barriers might otherwise say 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽.

And behind every award is a person who is still showing up, still working, and still believing that more may be possible.

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁.

We want to keep saying 𝗬𝗘𝗦. Every donation, partnership, sponsorship, and person who shares our mission helps make the next funding award possible.

What are you actually working toward?

“Getting stronger.”
“Walking better.”
“Improving balance.”

They’re important goals—but what would meaningful progress actually look like for you?

Walking farther? Using less assistance? Navigating stairs? Improving balance? Having more endurance for everyday life?

The more specific the goal, the more intentional the work can be.
Whatever your recovery looks like, ask: What are we working on? Why are we working on it? How does this move me closer to my goal?

Your goals should guide the work.

Every 1% matters. 💙💚

Today’s SCI Patient-Focused Drug Development meeting was incredibly eye-opening — and humbling.

Hearing so many people share the realities of living with spinal cord injury, their experiences with available treatments, the challenges that remain, and their hopes for what the future could hold was powerful.

Matt and I were honored to have the opportunity to speak and add our voices to this incredibly important conversation. There is so much work still to be done — and so much reason to keep pushing for better options.

I’m grateful to everyone who shared their story today, and to everyone who logged on to show that this community and its future matter.

Missed the conversation on Capitol Hill? Now you can watch it. 🎥

Last week, Matt and I had the opportunity to join researchers, clinicians, clinical trial participants, advocates, and members of the SCI community in Washington, D.C. for BreakThru SCI’s Congressional Briefing on accelerating innovation in spinal cord injury.

The conversation centered on something we care deeply about at Rise: research is advancing — and we need clinical trials, regulatory pathways, and access to keep moving forward with it.

BreakThru SCI has now made the full Congressional Briefing available to watch on YouTube.

We’re grateful to have been in the room, proud to support this advocacy, and even more grateful that the conversation is now available to the entire SCI community.

Research is moving. Let’s keep the momentum going.

And don’t forget: the SCI community has another important opportunity to be heard at the FDA SCI Patient-Focused Drug Development Meeting on September 29. Every registration helps demonstrate the size and strength of this community.

We were grateful to be in the room. Now you can watch the conversation.

Earlier this month, Matt and I joined researchers, clinicians, trial participants, advocates and members of the SCI community on Capitol Hill for BreakThru SCI’s Congressional Briefing on accelerating innovation in spinal cord injury.

The conversation focused on the extraordinary progress happening in SCI research — and the work still needed to ensure clinical trials and regulatory pathways keep pace with that progress.

The full briefing is now available through BreakThru SCI. If you care about what comes next for spinal cord injury research and treatment, we hope you’ll take the time to watch.

Research is moving. The systems around it need to move, too.

Thank you to BreakThru SCI for bringing these voices to Capitol Hill — and for making the full conversation available to the community.

And don’t forget: the SCI community has another important opportunity to be heard at the FDA SCI Patient-Focused Drug Development Meeting on September 29. Every registration helps demonstrate the size and strength of this community.

We’re starting a team. 💙

So many of you have supported Rise over the past year—through donations, sharing our work, attending events and cheering us on. This time, we’d love for you to show up with us.

On November 7, Adaptletics is hosting the Push Yourself Walk/Roll, benefiting Rise Through Resilience. If you know our family, you know how much Chris Carroll and Adaptletics mean to us. Chris has been an incredibly important part of Matt’s recovery—challenging him, believing in what’s possible and helping him continue to work toward the goals that matter to him.

That experience is also a big part of why Rise exists.

This event brings together Chris’s clients, our Rise community, family and friends—and we’d love to bring our people together, too.

Come walk. Come roll. Bring the kids. Meet Chris. Meet the community that inspires so much of what we do.

You don’t need to have any connection to SCI or rehabilitation. You just need to come be part of Team Rise. 💙

📅 Saturday, November 7 | 9:30 AM
📍 Timber Creek Park | Blackwood, NJ

Come walk & roll with us. Every 1% matters.

A pretty incredible milestone for Rise Through Resilience. 💙

In recognition of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, our logo is on the Nasdaq tower in Times Square — alongside organizations working to advance research, recovery, advocacy, and support for the SCI community.

When we launched Rise Through Resilience earlier this year, we simply wanted to help people continue pursuing recovery when insurance coverage and financial barriers stood in the way. We couldn’t have imagined seeing our name here just months later.

We’re incredibly grateful to NervGen for including Rise in this moment and proud to be part of a community pushing for more possibilities for people living with spinal cord injury.

And there’s an important way to be part of that work right now: the FDA’s Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) meeting on spinal cord injury is coming up September 29. Please register and sign on — participation matters. The more voices represented, the stronger the message about the need for continued research, clinical trials, and treatment options.

There is so much more work to do — and we’re just getting started.

Every 1% matters. 💙
