Rooted in the 42 year history of serving New Jersey residents living with epilepsy, developmental disabilities and chronic illness, the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey introduced The Family Resource Network in September 2004. The Family Resource Network is a comprehensive family-focused human service organization designed to meet the growing need for community based programs and services to this rising population. The Family Resource Network is a state-wide organization with headquarters in East Windsor, NJ. The Family Resource Network affiliated organizations:

Autism Family Services of New Jersey was created in order to better serve individuals and families affected by autism. With after school services such as arts and crafts, physical education, music therapy, respite opportunities and recreational programs, Autism Family Services of New Jersey strives to ensure a better quality of life for people with autism and their families. Caregivers of New Jersey’s efforts lie in updating caregivers on their rights and current legislation as well as educating the public on caregiving issues. The growing number of caregivers in the state has increased the demand for advocacy, education and information. Caregivers of New Jersey is proud to offer a centralized location for answers and information on all caregiving concerns. Epilepsy Services of New Jersey, an affiliate of the Epilepsy Alliance of America, provides necessary programs for families living with epilepsy, such as a residential summer camp, support groups, scholarships, and referral programs. ESNJ also institutes free of charge educational presentations about seizure recognition and first aid and police training.

We are excited to welcome Linda Brower, Senior Counsel with Stevens & Lee, to the Family Resource Network Board of Trustees.

Linda brings extensive experience in healthcare law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and nonprofit leadership, along with a longstanding connection to organizations serving individuals with disabilities and their families.

“Family Resource Network’s mission strongly resonates with both my professional experience and personal values,” said Brower. “I am honored to join the Board of Trustees and look forward to supporting individuals with disabilities, chronic conditions, and their families.”

On Thursday, October 8, from 12:00–1:00 PM, the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities Office of Transition to Adult Life & Employment will present Employment for All: A Workshop for Individuals and Families on Supported Employment.

The workshop will explore Supported Employment and how it can help individuals with disabilities pursue competitive, integrated employment. For individuals and families exploring employment options, the workshop offers a chance to learn more about Supported Employment and the services that can help support employment goals

At Family Resource Network, we see the impact of Supported Employment firsthand through Getting to Work, our CARF-accredited program that provides personalized employment services, job placement assistance, skill development, on-the-job coaching, and ongoing support to help individuals prepare for, find, and succeed in competitive employment.

This month, participants can catch a movie, enjoy lunch out, and celebrate the season together at a special Friendsgiving gathering.

Out N About gives adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities opportunities to get out, try new things, build friendships, and be part of the community.

We're excited to introduce Michelle Howell, Director of Support Services at Family Resource Network!

Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge in education, special education, and autism services to her role at FRN. Before joining our team, she served as Senior Assistant Director at Eden Autism School. Throughout her career, Michelle has dedicated herself to supporting students, families, educators, and school communities, serving in leadership roles including Education Director at Valley Day School and Assistant Principal at Mastery Charter Schools. Her passion for helping others and creating meaningful systems makes her an incredible addition to the FRN team.

Outside of work, Michelle is a wife and proud mom of two young men. She loves spending time with her family, making memories, and appreciating life's little moments. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue growing in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis and become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Above all, Michelle values staying present and creating memories with the people she loves.
