Got time for a FAQ regarding the WA Cares Fund?

Q: Can I use my WA Cares benefits for more than one type of service at a time?

A: Yes. You can use your benefits on any combination of covered services and supports from a registered WA Cares provider. For example, you could use your benefits for in-home personal care, home-delivered meals, and a personal emergency response system at the same time. The key is to budget your benefits thoughtfully, since your benefit amount is a lifetime total.

When it comes to long-term care, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Some people prefer the reliability and training of a professional caregiver. Others feel most comfortable receiving care from someone they already know and trust, such as a spouse or adult child.

WA Cares benefits cover both options, giving you the flexibility to choose the type of care that works best for your situation and your family.

High cholesterol has no symptoms. You can't feel it building up, but over time it can narrow and harden your arteries, raising your risk for heart disease and stroke. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and high cholesterol is one of its biggest risk factors.

Cholesterol comes in two forms. HDL is the "good" kind that carries cholesterol away from your arteries. LDL is the "bad" kind that builds up in artery walls. The good news is that lifestyle changes can make a real difference in managing both.
