Hello dear friends, thank you very much for your prayers and support. Wanted to share what is going on in our ministry. Summer is always a busy time, with many kids ministry and teen ministry events and camps.
For example in the Odessa area, Mark and Vitalina:
*Had several laptops donated so they could teach the local kids computer literacy, how to use Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; and much more.
*Vitalina has also set aside a specific day each week for a non-standard Sunday school programme. She chooses a topical psychological theme and leads a discussion.
*They are planning a camp this month. The theme of the camp will be ‘Financial Literacy’. Our aim is to teach the children biblical principles of managing their finances. One of our teens from Ivano-Frankivsk Zahar (Mark's brother) is there to help in this camp.
But recently they wrote to us with some sad news saying:
"We are writing to share our grief with you. Vitalina’s mother passed away on 1 August. The funeral took place today. Her heart gave out during an operation. She leaves behind four children: three minors and one adult, who has cerebral palsy; the youngest is five years old, and the other two are 15 and 16. As she was a single mother, child welfare services want to place them in a care home. We do not want this to happen. We are considering applying for guardianship."
Vitalina's sister is planning on taking their brother with CP to live with her. While Mark and Vitalina will become guardians for the 3 youngest. But this requires a lot of paperwork. And repairs to one of the rooms in the Church premises, so that the kids could live there. Please pray for wisdom in the paperwork process, finances for the renovation, and that they be able to raise these kids to be Godly adults who love and serve God
