✨Chloe’s story is a beautiful example of how coming alongside a family with the love of Christ can create lasting change—and how that same love can inspire someone who was once supported to step forward and serve others✨
My name is Chloe. I have a son named Jakobi, who is turning six this September and is starting kindergarten. In December of 2023, I was at the lowest point in my life. I was struggling with addiction and sin, was on the verge of losing my apartment, had lost my job, and felt so far from God. I reached out to my church for help, and they connected me with Safe Families. Not only was I scared, but I assumed they would give up on me after not too long. Instead, they came beside me, helped get me into treatment, and continued to build a bond with me. They supported me while I was in treatment through phone calls and even visits.
When I left treatment, they helped me make goals, hung out with me while I was finding a job to keep me out of trouble, and held me accountable daily. I am now about to celebrate three years sober, which is the longest I’ve ever had. In the past three years, I have obtained a job, been promoted to management, and am now buying my first house this month.
I aspire to help others the same way by showing the love of Christ and being a volunteer for Safe Families. Thank You, Jesus, for Your forgiveness, grace, and mercy. Thanks to Safe Families and their love for Jesus, I can live my life for Christ and be a light for others while continuing a healthy lifestyle.
This is how Safe Families helped me and why I choose to volunteer.
