Truly special... some people think kindness is weakness when it actually is the opposite. Cruelty and hatred are easy selfish acts. It takes very strong people to put others first. To help others with no expectations is truly a gift.

Who agrees with this?

The best pics are always blurry. Binx has stolen the warm heater, not sharing!

Can't believe Halloween in only a few weeks away. Taking advantage of nicer days outside to finish our seasonal cleaning. Also a great time to get those additional steps in with the dogs. The trees truly are blossoming with color.

Red is not sure what to make of his new toy. He says he prefers balls that move around

Lil Boo is starting to look her age. She is and has always been the sweetest thing. She spends her days upstairs where it is quiet with our other little feral friends. I think they have cat parties at night. Odd how our cats have separated themselves to upstairs cats and down stairs cats.

Of course, the upstairs cats simply prefer many hiding spots where they can't be seen. We are perfectly fine with this as long as they are happy.

While some shelters do adopt out black cats this time of year many do NOT. And they should not be faulted for that.

Recently on the news a woman suspected a litter of black kittens was possessed. The kittens belonged to a family member. Without giving the horrible details, tragically the kittens lost their lives.

In addition, black cats this time of year are novel, they go so well with our Halloween decor. Just like the 'pet' star of a movie causes people to rush out and acquire a pet they wouldn't normally consider, it is the same for black cats this time of year.

Sadly, because there has been a tragic increase in cats being abused it is more imperative than ever to protect these innocent souls.

Our hearts break for all the cats and kittens who will never feel safe and protected. That's why we work so hard to help as many as we can. Every single one deserves to be happy & safe.

Love this little buddy, but I swear if he bites me in the knee one more time I'm taking his Temptations away. This guy LOVES to bite!

Ohh my gosh, he wouldn't even let us go anywhere near the package to help him open it. They must have used the really good nip on this.
