Megan shares her story with , and it’s a reminder of why lived experience matters.

Those who have been through incarceration and recovery deserve a seat at the table when decisions are made. Their voices matter, and their stories can help change lives and policies.

Megan is doing amazing, and I’m so proud of her!

This is such a powerful story and an important one to share, especially during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence can look so different from what people expect, and stories like Patricia’s remind us of the strength, courage, and resilience it takes to survive and rebuild. 🧡

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To honor this month I am making my first documentary, Blindsided, available for anyone to watch.

Blindsided documents 15 years in the life of Patricia Livingstone, a feisty artist losing her sight and hearing while trying to survive her abusive girlfriend. Combined with Patricia's unique collection of home videos, the film documents the couple's romance, abuse, break up and, finally, friendship. When a cochlear implant restores most of Patricia's hearing, she picks herself up and finds a new love online. This epic story – conveyed with a tone set by the quirky humor of Patricia’s narration ‐‐ shines a light on domestic abuse, disability, forgiveness, and what it truly means to be independent.

She’s here. 💜

I’m so proud to finally introduce the Suzanne Smith House for Women, a new Path to Peace home.

This house carries Suzanne’s name, but more importantly, it carries a piece of her legacy forward. What she poured into the people around her now has the opportunity to continue through a place where women can find stability, support, recovery, and a chance to start again.

A real home. A fresh start. A safe place to get your feet underneath you and figure out what comes next.

Suzanne Smith House for Women.
Her legacy. Their next chapter. A Path to Peace. 💜

Hi! I want to share some big news! Our Pike county Crisis Provider for telephone crisis and involuntary commitments is changing! Starting October 1st, the Center for Community Resources (CCR) will pick up these services! They are already providing Mobile Crisis, Crisis Walk-In, and Crisis Stabilization Services for Pike residents. For continuity of care, we are making this change!
We hope this will streamline services in Pike County!
Resources for Human Development will continue to serve Monroe and Carbon Counties with telephone, mobile, Involuntary Commitments and Crisis Residential Services. RHD will continue to provide Medical Mobile Services and 988 for all three of our counties!
The crisis number remains the same!

I don't talk about myself much when I talk about Path to Peace. Most of the time, I want the focus to be on the people we serve. But I think it's important for people to know the person behind Path to Peace and understand why this work means so much to me. I believe people deserve another chance. I believe addiction doesn't take away someone's worth. I believe that when someone is trying to rebuild their life, they need more than a phone number and a list of resources. They need someone who is actually willing to show up.
That's what Path to Peace means to me. It's the woman who finally has a safe place to sleep. It's helping someone get an ID or a birth certificate so they can get a job. It's giving someone a ride to an appointment when they have no other way there. It's helping someone reconnect with their family. Sometimes it's simply sitting with someone on one of the worst days of their life and reminding them that their story isn't over.
And yes, this work can be exhausting. There are days when I wonder how we're going to make everything happen. There are days when it's frustrating and overwhelming. But then I see someone move forward. Someone gets a job. Someone gets housing. Someone gets their life back. Someone reconnects with their children. Someone starts believing in themselves again. And I'm reminded exactly why I started.

Path to Peace is deeply personal to me. I'm passionate about this work because I don't believe people have to be perfect to deserve help, dignity, compassion and a real opportunity to change their lives.
I'm proud of what we've built so far, but I'm even more excited about what's ahead. This is only the beginning. And one of the best parts of doing this work is that I get to hang around some of the best people I've ever met!!!! The people we serve, the people who show up for them, our volunteers, our partners and the people who believe in what we're doing. They remind me all the time why this work matters.

To everyone who has believed in Path to Peace, supported us, opened a door, made a referral, donated, volunteered, or even just shared one of our posts, thank you. You are part of this too.

Sometimes recovery changes the whole family, not just the person struggling.
This group is for parents, spouses, siblings, grandparents, and loved ones who are trying to understand recovery, set healthy boundaries, communicate better, and figure out how to support someone without losing themselves in the process.
You do not have to have all the answers. You do not have to know what to say. And you do not have to go through it alone.
Join us for the Path to Peace Family Recovery Workshop Series. This is a space for honest conversations, learning, support, and practical tools that families can actually use.
If someone you love is in recovery, thinking about recovery, or struggling with addiction, this group is for you.
Join us. Bring your questions. Bring your experience. Just come as you are.

First Recovery Support Group is officially in the books! ❤️

Recovery plans, conversations, goals, dreams, and everything in between. They brought it all to the table.

AMZ Housing Solutions and Path to Peace came together in one cozy spot for an evening of connection, support, and real conversation, facilitated by Stanley Lewandowski.

We’re building recovery together, one conversation at a time. 💙

Want to connect? We love guests! Come be part of the conversation and help us make this recovery journey stronger. 🙌

🌱 Plot twist... we accidentally became gardeners.

We’ve officially landed at the Community Garden and somehow the universe decided to trust us with not one, but TWO raised beds. Bold move. 😄

There’s something pretty amazing about getting your hands in the dirt, planting tiny seeds and knowing that weeks from now those same little seeds could turn into fresh vegetables, flowers, and something beautiful shared with the community.

This is more than gardening. It’s fresh air after long days, sunshine on your face, learning as we go, getting a little dirty, laughing at our mistakes, and reconnecting with nature in a world that moves way too fast.

So here’s to planting, harvesting, growing things from the ground up, and maybe discovering who among us actually has a green thumb. Stay tuned because this little adventure is just getting started. 🌻🥕🍅
