was chartered on November 23, 2013. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college e

ducated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. A great moment of fellowship yesterday as the Executive Board of the East Pocono Alumnae Chapter and Allentown Alumnae Chapter came together to welcome our National 1st Vice President, Rosie Allen-Herring to the Lehigh Valley along with welcoming our PA East State Coordinator, Tracey Howard and Past Eastern Regional Director, Theljewa Garrett. May Week 2026 with the East Pocono Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was one to remember ❤️🤍✨

Last week we poured into our community through wellness, fellowship, literacy, civic engagement, and financial empowerment! From Yoga in the Park focused on physical & mental health, to worshiping together during our annual church service at Greater Shiloh Church - North Campus, every moment reflected the power of sisterhood and service.

Our Arts & Letters committee hosted an inspiring book review featuring author Jevata Crawford and her book Moving in Place, creating meaningful conversation and reflection within our community. 📚✨

We also proudly encouraged civic engagement by helping get out the vote during the primary elections, while our Economic Development committee supported financial wellness by providing free budgeting templates and resources to help our community build healthy financial habits for the future.

Thank you to everyone who joined, supported, and celebrated with us throughout May Week 2026.

Together, we continue to uplift, empower, and make an impact in our community! ❤️
