🍂🌿 Giving Back to Our Community 🌿🍂

Yesterday, members and volunteers from Jinyin Temple came together once again to help clean up along Route 209.

As the fall season brings beautiful colors to the Poconos, we’re reminded of the importance of caring for the place we call home. We’re grateful for the opportunity to do our small part in keeping our community clean and beautiful.

Thank you to everyone who came out and lent a hand. It’s through these small, shared efforts that we help make our community a better place for all. 🙏🍁

A morning of prayer, fellowship, and community. 🙏

Today, Jinyin Temple joined the 31st Annual Pocono Prayer Breakfast at Kalahari Resorts.

It was wonderful to reconnect with event director Charlie Trapasso, Pennsylvania State Senator Rosemary Brown, and Gina Bertucci, from whom we purchased our temple property, and to meet Judge Stacy Wallace of Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court, actor and producer Kevin Downes, and many other community members.

We cherish these opportunities to build friendships across faiths and cultures through our shared commitment to compassion, service, and peace. Thank you to the organizers and volunteers for bringing our community together!

On September 25, Jinyin Temple of Sino Esoteric Buddhism welcomed friends, community members, and religious representatives for our 2026 Mid-Autumn World Peace Blessing Ceremony.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of China’s most cherished celebrations of reunion and harmony. Under the light of the full moon, we came together not only to honor this beautiful tradition, but also to pray for peace, compassion, mutual understanding, and harmony among all faiths.

During the ceremony, Jinke Yinhao, Board Member of the World League of Sino Esoteric Buddhism Association, offered words of welcome and gratitude on behalf of The Vajra Master Jinke Xuanlei, Lineage Holder of Sino Esoteric Buddhism, and practitioners of Sino Esoteric Buddhism around the world.

We were honored to welcome the following speakers and guests who shared their reflections and words of encouragement during the ceremony:

Interfaith & Religious Representatives
• Reverend Susan H. Odessky — Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Poconos
• Rev. Dr. Sherry Blackman — formerly of Presbyterian Church of the Mountain
• Semih Kiyma — Muslim Chaplain at Lafayette College and Chairman of the Poconos Interfaith Council

Guest Speakers
• Ms. Annette Atkinson
• Albert “Sonny” Murray Jr.

We are deeply grateful to each of our speakers for sharing their reflections, prayers, and words of encouragement, and to the people of Pennsylvania and everyone who joined us for this meaningful evening.

May the light we shared that evening continue to shine beyond the temple—to our communities, across cultures and traditions, and throughout the world.

May the world be united.
May the world be at peace.
May all religions work together in harmony.
May all faiths be respected and honored equally.

Another peaceful Sunday at Jinyin Temple 🙏🌿

Today’s weekly in-person meditation brought our community together for a period of quiet mindfulness, followed by Tangmi standing yoga —a gentle practice combining movement, breath, and awareness.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared in this time of practice and connection. May we carry the calm and clarity we cultivate here into the week ahead. 🧘‍♀️✨

Our weekly Sunday meditation continues every Sunday from 10:30–11:30 AM. All are welcome!

Yesterday, we gathered at Jinyin Temple for the Ullambana Festival (盂蘭盆節) 🙏🌸

With sincere hearts, we honored our parents and ancestors through sutra recitation, offerings to the Triple Gem, and ancestral blessings, while extending our compassion and prayers to all beings in need of peace and liberation.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, made offerings, and helped make this meaningful day possible. May the merit of our practice bring blessings to our loved ones, both living and departed, and benefit all sentient beings.

愿以此功德,普及于一切。
May the merit of our practice extend to all. 🙏

Today, Jinyin Temple met with Pennsylvania State Senator Rosemary Brown to share the vision for the World Peace Prayer Mandala, a project planned for the grounds of Jinyin Temple in Pennsylvania.

During the meeting, we introduced the vision behind the project and shared the sacred mandala artwork, Globe of Peace, Union of Humanity.

The World Peace Prayer Mandala Altar is envisioned as a place where people of different faiths, cultures, and backgrounds can come together in prayer for world peace and reflect on our shared humanity.

We look forward to continuing conversations with our community leaders and bringing people together around a shared hope for peace.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Dharma Assembly commemorating the Enlightenment Day of Avalokiteśvara (Guan Yin) Bodhisattva 🙏

Together, we recited the Great Compassion Mantra, participated in the repentance ritual, and shared a community blessing lunch in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

May Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva’s boundless compassion inspire us to listen deeply, act with kindness, and bring wisdom into our daily lives. May the merits of our practice benefit all sentient beings.

Thank you to our volunteers and everyone who made this gathering possible. We look forward to welcoming you to our next Dharma assembly.

Practice Through Service

At Jinyin Temple, spiritual practice extends beyond the meditation hall.

Volunteers and members dedicate their time to caring for the temple, supporting community activities, and chanting sacred prayers together. Service and practice go hand in hand, reminding us that compassion is expressed not only through words, but also through our daily actions.

May the sound of these prayers bring peace to every heart, harmony among all people, and blessings to the world.
