🚧 ROAD CONSTRUCTION & DETOUR – OCTOBER 13–14 - SOUTH COURTLAND STREET
Please read, plan ahead, and share with your neighbors!
🚧 1. SOUTH COURTLAND STREET – TRAFFIC ALERT
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13 & WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14
Beginning at 9:15 AM Tuesday, South Courtland Street near the former PNC Bank building will be restricted to ONE LANE for road construction.
DETOURS WILL BE IN EFFECT:
➡️ NORTHBOUND: Brown Street → Ridgeway Street → Prospect Street → Analomink Street → South Courtland Street.
⬅️ SOUTHBOUND (toward Stroudsburg): South Courtland Street → Analomink Street → Prospect Street → Ridgeway Street → Brown Street.
⚠️ PLEASE AVOID SOUTH COURTLAND STREET ON OCTOBER 13 & 14 IF POSSIBLE.
We anticipate two days of construction but hope to finish sooner. Please allow extra travel time and use extra caution around workers and equipment.
🍂 2. BOROUGH LEAF COLLECTION BEGINS OCTOBER 13!
The Borough's annual leaf collection begins Tuesday, October 13, and continues into December.
Help our Public Works crews keep East Stroudsburg clean and beautiful!
✅ Rake leaves to the curb or edge of your property.
✅ Keep sidewalks, roadways, and storm drains clear.
✅ Place LEAVES ONLY in collection piles.
❌ DO NOT rake leaves into the street.
❌ NO branches, sticks, limbs, stumps, grass clippings, or other debris.
Thank you for helping keep our neighborhoods clean and storm drains functioning properly!
💧 3. HYDRANT FLUSHING – OCTOBER 26–29
NIGHTLY FROM 9:00 PM TO APPROXIMATELY 2:00 AM
The East Stroudsburg Borough Water Department will conduct routine water-main and hydrant flushing from Monday, October 26, through Thursday, October 29.
Flushing removes naturally occurring mineral deposits and helps maintain water quality.
⚠️ IMPORTANT FOR WATER CUSTOMERS:
Temporary water discoloration may occur during or after flushing.
If water is discolored, run your COLD WATER until it clears.
AVOID DOING LAUNDRY BETWEEN 9 PM AND 2 AM on flushing nights.
If clothing becomes stained, DO NOT DRY IT. Rewash with additional detergent or a laundry-safe rust remover.

🎃 4. HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARADE & TRUNK OR TREAT!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2026 – 10:00 AM
📍 DOWNTOWN EAST STROUDSBURG
👻 Costumes! 🎃 Candy! 🚒 Community Fun!
Join us for the 2026 East Stroudsburg Halloween Costume Parade and Trunk or Treat!
🎃 COSTUME PARADE – EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
The parade begins at 10:00 AM at the South Kistler Street Municipal Parking Lot, next to the Historic Dansbury Depot.
Participants will cross the railroad tracks behind Trackside and do a fun loop around Crystal Street.
🏆 Yes, the best costumes will be recognized!
We anticipate over 100 costume parade participants. Families, children, and community members are encouraged to participate!
🍬 TRUNK OR TREAT – FREE!
Following the parade, children and families can enjoy Trunk or Treat along Crystal Street.
🚗 WANT TO BRING A VEHICLE AND HAND OUT CANDY?
Participation is FREE.
Vehicles must provide their own candy for 100 participants
Advance registration is REQUIRED to reserve a Trunk or Treat parking space on Crystal Street.
All participating vehicles must be parked by 9:45 AM on October 31.
