☀️ GOOD MORNING, EAST STROUDSBURG! ☀️
It's June 15th, summer has arrived, and there is a lot happening throughout the Borough.
♻️ RECYCLING CENTER CLOSED TODAY
Please note that the Twin Borough Recycling Center is closed today, Monday, June 15th, in observance of the Flag Day holiday.
☆☆The East Stroudsburg FARMER'S MARKET at the Historic Dansbury Depot will be starting soon, every Wednesday, from 0800 to Noon. The rain and colder Spring has delayed the first harvests. Look for updates. If you're interested in participating as a vendor, call the Borough or email the Borough Manager, the contact information is below☆☆
🌿 HIGH WEEDS – PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES
With the recent rain and warm weather, grass and weeds are growing quickly throughout the Borough.
A friendly reminder that property owners are responsible for maintaining not only their lawns and properties, but also the area between the sidewalk and the street.
● Maintaining that small strip of your property only takes a few minutes, and it helps keep our neighborhoods looking great.
Code Enforcement Officers are actively addressing high weeds, and citations are being issued.
Let's all do our part to keep East Stroudsburg looking its best!

📣 BOROUGH COUNCIL MODERNIZATION UPDATE
🔧 UGI GAS LINE REPLACEMENT
UGI's modernization project on Spangenburg Avenue and Marguerite Street is expected to be completed before the end of June.
All 100-year-old gas lines have been replaced in the Borough.
Work on Chestnut Street gas lines will start next. Then Chestnut Street will be repaved.
🛣️ 2026 SUMMER PAVING PROGRAM
Road paving preparations are starting this week. Following completion of UGI's utility work, these streets will be repaved as part of the Borough's 2026 paving program. Yes, UGI is paying their required contribution. Maple Avenue and Berwick Heights Road will be paved with CDBG funds. More than $750,000 in paving improvements are planned this year.
🌊 LEVEE REPAIRS
Two critical levee culverts will be repaired this summer. The levee system, constructed after the devastating 1955 flood, remains one of the Borough's most important infrastructure assets. These repairs are a top priority for public safety.
💧 WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
The Borough continues investing in aging water infrastructure, including valves, hydrants, and water mains. These improvements help reduce water main breaks, improve fire protection, and maintain reliable service.
🚧 SEWER SYSTEM UPGRADES
Inspection, maintenance, and repair work continues throughout our sewer system. These efforts help prevent backups, improve reliability, and extend the life of critical infrastructure.
🌧️ STORMWATER & DRAINAGE
The Borough continues evaluating drainage systems, stormwater facilities, and roadway inlets to improve flood resilience and protect roads, homes, and businesses. Borough Council is investing in monitoring systems to reduce stormwater inflow and infiltration into our sewer system.
🏗️ MAJOR CAPITAL PROJECTS
2026 is shaping up to be one of the most active infrastructure years in Borough history:
✅ $2.7 Million Well #3 & #4 Filtration Project
✅ $4.6 Million I-80 Sewer Line Replacement Project
✅ New Street Sweeper
✅ Replacement of aging trucks, plows, pumps, and equipment
✅ Continued road paving and utility improvements
🤝 GRANT FUNDING SUCCESS
Over the past 18 months, East Stroudsburg has secured more than $400,000 in grant funding through the support of our state delegation.
● Thank You Representative Probst and Senator Brown!

🌿 BOROUGH BEAUTIFICATION
🧹 FALL BEAUTIFICATION DAY
Mark your calendars! Borough Beautification Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 19th. Volunteers and volunteer groups will be needed.
🗑️ TRASH CART STORAGE
Please remember that trash carts should be stored to the side or rear of properties and never left in front yards. Trash carts in front yards are being ticketed.
♻️ RECYCLING IS MANDATORY
Recycling reduces waste, helps the environment, and keeps trash costs under control. And, the more the Borough recycles, we get bigger state grants!
Free curbside recycling service is available every other week, and residents may also use the Twin Borough Recycling Center.
🚗 PARKING ON LAWNS
Vehicles should be parked on approved driveways and parking surfaces—not on front, side, or rear lawns. Proper parking helps preserve neighborhood appearance and protects sidewalks and drainage systems.
🚫 UNLICENSED VEHICLES
Unlicensed and inoperable vehicles are subject to enforcement and possible towing if violations are not corrected.
🏠 PROPERTY MAINTENANCE
Maintaining homes, fences, paint, and landscaping helps protect neighborhood character and property values. No high weeds!
🚶 SIDEWALKS
Property owners are reminded to keep sidewalks clear and safe for pedestrians. Property owners are required to replace broken or unsafe sidewalks.
🚯 ILLEGAL DUMPING & LITTERING
Illegal dumping and littering harm our community and will not be tolerated. Please report violations when you see them.
🐾 PET WASTE
Please remember to clean up after your pets. It's courteous, sanitary, and required.
