🌿 Good things are growing (& blooming) in Middle Smithfield Township!

Your Penn State Extension Master Gardeners, Monroe County were out early on this beautiful summer Saturday, weeding, transplanting, planting, and tending to the rain garden at the Middle Smithfield Township Community & Cultural Center.

They also set up the “Ask a Master Gardener” table to answer questions from folks enjoying a morning walk at Echo Lake Park (check out photos for more deets).

Curious about the plants now blooming in the rain garden? Check out the “Plant of the Month” display inside the vestibule Stop by the Community & Cultural Center. (see photos for more details! 🌸🌱)

Thank you to our dedicated Master Gardeners for helping our gardens AND our community bloom!

STORM DAMAGE: Did the July 3rd and 4th Storms Damage Your Property?

If your home sustained damage during the July 3rd and 4th storms and you have not already submitted a damage report or spoken with someone from Emergency Management, we need to hear from you NOW.

**Please email Rachel Heller at **[email protected] with information about the damage to your property, with your contact information.

Monroe County is working to assess the full impact of the storms. Your report is an important part of documenting damages and may help support requests for state and federal disaster assistance if those thresholds are met.

If you have not yet completed the Monroe County Storm Damage Assessment Survey, please do so as soon as possible:

https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/f7294fb2e586409aa2af8c9aeb5d623c

PLEASE DON'T ASSUME SOMEONE ELSE HAS REPORTED YOUR DAMAGE. Every property counts, and every report helps provide a more accurate picture of the impact our community experienced.
EVERY REPORT MATTERS. Even if you think your damage is minor, please take a few minutes to report it.

Thank you for helping Middle Smithfield Township and Monroe County document the full extent of the storm's impact.
