On Saturday, September 8, 2012 railroad workers found me and my 2 sisters nailed by our paws to the railroad tracks in Albany, NY. We were taken to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands, NY where we were given life saving treatment for dehydration, malnutrition, infection and the injuries to our paws. On September 13, 2012 veterinary surgeon Dr. Tom Bowersox was called in to assess our condition

. Dr. Bowersox determined that I was a good candidate for a prosthetic limb. My sister Pearl, who lost 2 toes was going to be okay. On October 12, 2012 Dr. Bowersox fitted my first prosthetic leg and a month later it was put in place. I will need several more prosthetic paws as I grow up. But for now, we were ready to find our forever homes. On November 9, 2012 MHHS announced that any interested forever families should write an essay no more than 300 words as to why they wanted to adopt my sister, Pearl and I. Then on November 30, 2012 I met who would be come my forever family. Rich, Rosemarie and Sami Nash. It was announced on December 5, 2012 that I would be adopting my forever family, the Nash's and my sister Pearl, would be going to another loving home. My sister and I will be having play dates. In January 2013 I start my training. Once the initial training is complete, my new sister Sami and I will be going to Good Citizen training so we can become therapy dogs and visit other amputees in hospitals.
