Do Good and Show Mercy…
“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, In as much as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40.

Subject Line: Will You Donate to Support Lansdowne Community Initiative, East St. Louis, IL Today?

Dear Facebook Family and Friends,

I hope this email finds you well. As we approach Giving Tuesday, I want to share a remarkable success story of how Lansdowne Community Initiative (LCI) impacted the everyday lives of everyday people:
Residents are a large part of the collaboration; Alice Moore, born and raised in ESTL is a local 46er and dedicated to her community. You never know where you will run into Alice. You can be sure she is advocating for her community to get things done, helping seniors and families in need, and serving on local boards to support the efforts and resources being put forth throughout the City. Another local resident is Tennessee Nelson. Tennessee has experienced house fires on both sides of her well-kept home on 42nd Street that has taken years to clear the charred debris, and still has a smile on her face, and a voice to be heard. We love and appreciate Tennessee. She too, embodies the spirit of the Lansdowne Community. Shay, born and raised in East St. Louis, embodies the resilience and spirit of Lansdowne Community Initiative (LCI). Amidst the city's challenges, she lived and grew up in the Roosevelt Project of East. St. Louis, until LCI provided her family of five with a newly renovated home, six years ago. With this new sense of confidence and love, she has dedicated her life to fighting for her community's renewal. Finding solace through LCI and Unity Lutheran Church, where she and her family are members. After personal setbacks, Shay has been pivotal in revitalizing Lansdowne. Shay now assists with home repairs. She is living proof that regardless of economic opportunities, residents don't have to leave Lansdowne in search of a better life.
This Giving Tuesday, Lansdowne Community Initiative is on a mission to renew a spirit of community that stabilizes and revitalizes the Lansdowne neighborhood. Our focus areas encompass protecting the environment, ensuring community and public safety, increasing the availability and affordability of housing for all economic levels, and enhancing neighborhood amenities, including transit access, infrastructure, and green spaces like Jones Park.
By donating to our GivingTuesday campaign, you can give the gift of renewed hope, safety, and prosperity to the entire Lansdowne community. Your kindness will make it possible for us to continue our essential work. Friends and supporters like you are the driving force behind our accomplishments. We couldn't have achieved the following milestones without your support:
• 47 owner-occupied homes renovated
• 5 newly renovated homes
• 4 Unit Apartment Building under renovation
• 15 families renting homes from LCI/Unity Lutheran Church
• 12 Vacant and Abandoned Lot clean-ups
• 25 Youth Volunteers in Partnership with the R3 Employment Program
• Semi-annual financial education classes
• Ongoing community engagement and leadership development
Your generosity has already transformed countless lives, and together, we can do even more. Your donation on GivingTuesday will not only contribute to our fundraising goal but also help us change the Lansdowne Community by doing good in the neighborhood, just as we've been doing through our various programs and initiatives.
