It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend, Anthony DeCrescenzo, Jr., who passed away peacefully on the evening of July 21, surrounded by the love of his family.
There are some people whose presence leaves a lasting mark on a community. Anthony was one of those rare individuals.
To many, he was the face of the East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce. But to those who had the privilege of truly knowing him, he was so much more. He was its heart. Its welcoming smile. Its steady hand. Its biggest encourager. He had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel valued, whether you were a longtime member, a new business owner, or someone attending your very first Chamber event.
Anthony believed in people. He believed in small businesses. He believed in relationships. Most importantly, he believed that when a community comes together, everyone is stronger because of it.
His kindness, generosity, quiet leadership, and genuine love for this community touched countless lives. He celebrated the successes of others, offered encouragement when it was needed most, and dedicated so much of himself to helping East Providence thrive. His legacy will continue to live on through the friendships he built, the businesses he supported, and the community he helped strengthen.
While our hearts are saddened today, we are also incredibly grateful. Grateful that we had the opportunity to know him. Grateful for the example he set. Grateful for the countless memories that will continue to bring smiles for years to come.
As we move forward together, may we honor Anthony in the best way possibleโby continuing to support one another, lifting up our local businesses, extending kindness to those around us, and carrying forward the spirit of service and community that he so beautifully embodied.
On behalf of the East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce, we extend our deepest condolences to Mary Lynn, his family, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing him. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
