In recognition of Independence Day, all Potter League for Animals locations will be closed on Thursday, July 4. We will resume normal operations on Friday, July 5.

While you're enjoying the holiday festivities, please remember to keep your pets safe and comfortable. Fireworks and loud noises can be very stressful for animals, so here are a few tips to help your pets feel secure:

🔸 Keep Pets Indoors: Create a safe space inside your home where your pets can feel sheltered from the noise. Close windows and curtains to minimize the sound of fireworks.

🔸 Provide Comfort: Give your pets their favorite toys, blankets, and a cozy place to hide. Playing calming music or white noise can also help drown out the sounds of fireworks.

🔸 Update Identification: Ensure your pets have up-to-date identification tags and are microchipped. In case they get scared and run away, this will help you be reunited more quickly.

🔸 Exercise Early: Take your dogs for a walk and engage in playtime earlier in the day to tire them out before the evening celebrations begin.

We wish you a safe and happy Independence Day!

Our Story

Pets in Need (PIN) Veterinary Clinic provides compassionate, high quality veterinary care to the pets of low-income Rhode Island residents.

To many Rhode Islanders, the cost of quality veterinary care for their beloved pets is out of reach. Elderly, disabled, or low-income pet owners are often left with nowhere to turn when their pet is in need of care. Unfortunately, these situations can leave a pet owner with no other choice other than to surrender their beloved pet to a local shelter. In 2016, the RI Veterinary Medical Association’s Companion Animal Foundation and the RI Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals came together to create the Pets In Need (PIN) Veterinary Clinic. The PIN Clinic’s mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to the pets of low-income Rhode Island residents.

Pets In Need Veterinary Clinic is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and full service veterinary clinic that offers low-cost, high quality medical and surgical services for pets of eligible low-income Rhode Island pet owners.
