Giving with the chance to go to ! Grace was 20 days past her 1st birthday when she was diagnosed with a SacroCoccygeal Teratoma Tumor.

Due to complications from the tumor, Grace contracted a near deadly infection that required surgery and one month of being in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence RI. For four weeks, Grace was sedated and on ventilation as her body fought to overcome the affects of this infection. Grace and her family received such wonderful care from the doctors and nurses

that it forever changed their lives. Watching these wonderful doctors and nurses take care of Grace and also watching how friends and family came to our side made us want to give back. I know how difficult it was for us to maintain the day to day acts of our lives while Grace was going through her ordeal. It was then that I decided that I want to help high school kids and their families who are getting ready to head off to college but are dealing with issues related to cancer. The college admission and financial aid process can be very confusing, intimidating and down right frustrating. Families pay upwards of $4,000 to private consultants for help in navigating through the college admissions/financial aid maze. I know first hand all of the out of pocket expenses that families incur while their children are being treated. Spending thousands of dollars on these services for many families is out of the question. That's where the National GRACE Foundation comes in. GRACE stands for Growing, Recovering and Achieving a College Education. I along with colleagues from America's top universities will provide these services free of charge to college bound children and their families who are dealing with cancer. 15 years ago started like any other day for us. And the. Just like that it all went sideways and we ended up at Hasbro Children’s Hospital for close to 6 months while Grace was treated for cancer. Thankful for all the amazing people at Hasbro and all of our friends and family who helped us get through it.

Seniors! It’s not too early to start thinking about your college recommendation letters. Start thinking about who you may ask. Give them time to write a recommedation, and help them by giving them a “brag sheet” of your accomplishments, favorite classes/subjects, jobs, or extracurriculars!

Summer is finally here! ☀️ Join us on Friday, July 19th for the 12th Annual National GRACE Foundation Beach Party! 🎉 We’ll celebrate and award our 15th Isabel Helen Farnum Scholarship from 6-10 PM at the Narragansett Beach North Beach Clubhouse! There will be music, games, raffle items, dancing, dinner from a couple of our fav’s and and SO much more. All funds raised from the Beach Party will go toward the Isabel Helen Farnum Scholarship fund and helping kids with cancer go to college! 🌈

Thank you to everyone who came out for our FORE The Kids golf tournament today at TopGolf RI raising funds to help kids with cancer go to college. Congrats to our tourney winners - Jules P in our under 18 division and Sue F in our over 18 division. Already planning for next year. We’ll see you on July 19 at our Beach Party!
