When describing the RCC softball team this week, someone described it not simply as a ministry of the church but as being the church in the community. The genuine care, support, encouragement, help in each other's personal lives, mentoring of younger players, joy shared, and bonds of vulnerable and lasting friendships formed... reach far beyond what happens on the field.

It is always a little sad when the season comes to an end, and we celebrate the ripple effect these men make in our community. Thank you, Kevin and Neil, for your faithful coaching and organizing this year.

Have you had that moment where you wish deep in your bones to roll back time and redo something? A moment you just can't believe what happened or what you did, so your brain refuses to think about what's next as your heart cries for a second chance? We have.

One time, a friend was backing in her daughter's driveway in a car she doesn't usually drive. She mixed up the gas and brake, driving right through the garage wall and door into the 1940 Mercury 4-door her son-in-law was restoring. No one was hurt. When her daughter came outside to see what had happened, she declared, "I never want to see your husband again." She meant it in the core of her being, not because of how he would react (he was kind about it), but because of her own embarrassment. If there were no time machine so she could re-do the last 5 minutes, she wanted to run and hide and never face the destruction or mistake been caused.

Sometimes our feelings tell us we must earn God's love or forgiveness or affection. Sometimes people say things that cause us to doubt our worth or likability. On Sunday, we played "Scripture or CAP," in other words, "Bible or False". Each of us was surprised by where at least one quote was found.

The truth: When it comes to God's love, you don't have to be good or healthy. God's love is free and abundant for each of us. Whoever you are, whatever you've done, whatever you can do, whatever you will do, there is no limit, no expiration date, and no 'three-strike rule' on God's love.

Maybe you know God loves you no matter what. The deeper question is, what would it take to convince your heart of God’s unshakable love, so that you live each moment of each day as if you are worthy and fully loved just as you are?

We are asked not just to speak up but to speak well- every single time.

When our hearts ache, when we fear the impact of what others are doing, when we are tired, anxious, in times of crisis... It's not as easy as it sounds.
What might it look like for the Christian community to put away untruths and half-truths, to speak with humility in a world of competing narratives? Can we own that our own experience and filtered information is only part of the story?

Could curiosity fuel new pathways to Speak Up in ways that Lift Up?

TADA! Summer sermons are rolling in!
We have struggled with sermon recordings but have the entire sermon "The Gift of Imperfection" for you! It was recorded a little too wide so the visual quality is lower than it typically is (It's not your eyes).
The Gift (and Danger) of Truthtelling is also on Youtube and we will provide a link on the socials this week.
