K9 FINN — CLEARED FOR ADOPTION

Following a formal behavioral and working-skills evaluation conducted by 10-42 K9 Inc., K9 Finn has been cleared for adoption & placement with an appropriate, experienced handler or home.
Finn is a 3-year-old neutered male German Shepherd/Catahoula mix with prior scent-trailing/SAR training. During his evaluation, he demonstrated strong working drive, scent ability, focus, & clear potential for continued training.
The evaluation also identified areas that will require continued management and training, particularly his reactivity toward other dogs. Because of that, Finn is not being represented as currently operationally deployable for SAR without additional training & behavioral work. That said, SAR is only one of many possible paths for Finn.
With the right experienced owner or handler, Finn may potentially be suited for a number of roles, including:
An active pet/companion home
Hunting or tracking work
Recreational scent work / nose work
Mantrailing or tracking sports
Shed-antler or game recovery work
Other scent-based working or sport disciplines
Continued SAR development, if an experienced handler chooses to pursue that path
Our priority is finding Finn the right placement, not simply the fastest one. Any prospective adopter should understand that Finn is a high-drive dog with a documented behavioral history & should be prepared to continue structured training & responsible management.
