Amazing work by the inspiring young people at March For Our Lives for the powerful town hall conversations in Monterey Park, California on Friday.

Thanks to the candidates (Rep. Barbara Lee, Rep. Katie Porter, Rep. Adam Schiff, and Lexi Reese) for bringing their perspectives on this vital issue, co-host Southern California Crossroads, and to all the Californians who joined the conversation.

📢 CALIFORNIA, we need to address the elephant in the room: GUN VIOLENCE. It’s the leading cause of death for young people in America, and the gun lobby is profiting off our deaths while their corrupt friends in the Senate block lifesaving laws. We need a FIGHTER to stop them.

Join us and our friends at People's Town Hall in Los Angeles to meet California's Senate candidates to hear their plans, and make sure they hear US loud and clear—we need a gun safety agenda NOW.

🗓️ Friday, Sept 8th
⏰ 4-6 pm PT

People's Town Hall is excited to launch our new conversation series with Americans doing the hard work of making democracy work -- IF WE CAN KEEP IT.

Democracy is more than just what happens in the halls of Congress, or at the ballot box in November. It’s a year-round process.

Our first conversation is with Oregon activist and movement leader
Candace Avalos. We discuss how she got involved in local politics, her work to reform her city's form of government, and reasons for hope for our democracy.
